This is the '83 Firebird I owned for over 15 years. I sold it in December, 2009 through Gateway Classic Cars in St. Louis. I'm leaving the CarDomain page up for a while in case the new owner goes online to try and find some history on the car.
I bought it in 1994 in Arkansas and drove it home to suburban Chicago. Back then, the car was black with a gray vinyl interior and had a 2.8 V6 for power. Over the next 15 years, just about everything except the body shell was replaced and upgraded.
The car has been updated with '91 Formula bumpers, a Harwood cowl hood, 4th gen T/A style rear spoiler and '94 Corvette Admiral blue paint in DuPont base/clear. Wheels are by Boze Forged.
The original 2.8L V6 was replaced by a 383 small block. There is a TH350 behind it and a Moser 9-inch rearend located with a South Side Machine rear suspension setup. All the drivetrain details are on Page 7
The interior has a few custom touches- like a cupholder in the console and a nitrous bottle where the spare tire used to be. Interior is on Page 9 .
Did you notice the door handles? The flush Grand Prix door handle project is chronicled on Page 4 .
13" C4 Corvette brakes replace the stock 10.5" setup. Check out the suspension, brake and wheel upgrades on Page 8 .
ThirdGen Fest was the first showing of the newly-completed car. It rained all day, but it was still a successful outing. Check out Page 10
