I bought this car from Ebay for $405.00 a couple months back for a daily beater. I drove it home to Tenn. from the St.Louis area, over 512 miles. It had some problems, the injectors were bad and caused the car to quit and not start for a couple of hours. But while driving it home from work one day, it jumped gears on the timing chain. The guide plate was the culprit. I pulled the front head and it had bent all the intake valves. This engine had 178,000 miles and it was hitting the scrap pile. I originally bought the car for a good 3.1 that I had sitting around.
It was pretty nasty though from sitting around for a year.
I decided to replace gaskets and do a valve job on it while it was out.
I got bored and decided to port-match the intakes and do a little paint. Next thing you know the heads get involved with a little port-matching and bowl blend. Everyone thinks I am spending too much $$ on it.
I don't think so. If you like this, say so in my guestbook.
I need the support to keep some money flowing into this car. It really turned out nice, all I had to do was install all this without damaging the finish.
It went flawlessly, which is unusual for me and looks awesome.
Everybody who's seen it, say that they love it. They all want me to do similar work on their cars.
