The car is now in the shop for the engine swap!!!
Started removing some stuff. Ah, the benefits of having a huge car!
And there's the old beast
Rolled her outside for her date with the pressure washer.
Before and after some cleaing. Paint's next.
Painted

My brother holdin down the beast while I drop in the new mill.
Engine is in!!!!
More Progress!
Yea... we'll see.
Got a bit more work done (9/14)
The alternator and power steering pump are mounted and the battery tray was re-re-done in a very thick layer of rubber undercoating.
New toys came in from Jegs. Spectre hose kit and Moroso super 40 race wires. Got the starter and the fuel pump mounted. Not sure I'm feeling that upper radiator hose, we'll have to see what everything looks like together.
More work done, just getting the valves adjusted. Bought a new overflow tank and windshield washer bottle from Mike's montes too. Still has the original GM sticker...
ENGINE IS DONE AND RUNNING!! A video will be coming eventually!
Things to do:
Hood back on?
Remove throttle cable slack
Get it to shift past second....lol

Some of you may remember that old junker 350 I had pried from a rusting up plow truck?
Well it's history, and a different 350 found its way to me over the summer. Due to my limited budget, I'm going to slowly accumulate the pieces until it's ready to go. Stay tuned.
Before:
After:
Little nicer, eh? It's another 350, 4 bolt main, bored .030 over.
And here's the heads I just recently acquired. GM Performance Vortec SBC heads with the flat-top pistons my engine guy ordered should put her right at 10:1; which is plenty for my daily driver.
New box showed up today (3/12/07), it's my polished aluminum , Professional Products, Vortec intake which I bought from Nickels performance. The boxes are starting to pile up :) Looks good posed under the hood.
Finally made some progress with the moto :D
Comp Magnum Cam
Got the head gaskets, cam button, zoom timing chain, and Melling oil pump. It's finally starting to look like something.
.....UNFORTUNATELY, I also noticed a slight problem with the heads that I didn't catch a year ago when they shipped.... Yep, I have a goddamn bent rocker stud....
... Aaaaand we're back (9/1). Got the old stud out and the new one in. Finally torqued the heads down for good using ARP head bolts. Rockers should be coming soon!
Update: Woot! The new, blue, self-aligning, 1.5 ratio, aluminum roller rockers finally arrived courtesy of Nickels Performance and Engine Works. Hooray for alliteration!
Rockers, pushrods, and intake DONE!
And... drumroll prease!
I finally painted the engine! Gettin close...
Now I need to figure out a new poll...lol
New, high torque starter from Engine Works and Nickels Performance. A Christmas present from my dad!
My water pump and water neck came in today (1/3). Weiand action plus pump and a polished aluminum thermostat housing from Trans Dapt. I mocked them up and cleaned some of the paint-clogged threads on the motor so that I don't have any surprises when it goes in.
Polished aluminum valve covers from Jeggies arrived (1/9)
