Page 3: Engine & Audio
Here's a long overdue update for this page.
Wires and whatnot are till danglin' around a little here. Still need to re-run the vacum lines for the heat. Not worried so much about that right now :D

Well, after working at it slowly and acquiring the parts over many months, the engine swap was finally finished. What you see here is a mildly built 355 for cruising and a bit of street shenanigans. This was all done on the cheap, but a nice set of aluminum heads and a bigger cam could make things a lot more interesting.

This is the most recent pic of the engine all polished up for Carlisle, showcasing the new March aternator bracket and freshly painted POS alternator. I really need a 100 amp shiny one...
There is a full write-up of all the parts I used on the engine swap page.

On a recent excursion to the local junk yard, I unearthed a pair of Monte logos from the hub caps on some non-SS style wheels. They were in pretty good shape so I decided to take them, and later I attached one to the cap of the radiator puke tank. I think it looks pretty cool, even better now with the NOS puke tank.
Removed Junk:
-Everything!
New motor, new exhaust video. Just a short one for now, I'll make a better one later. I think it needs to be louder, no?
Audio components:
-Alpine CDE-9845 head unit
-Audiobahn AS31Q 3.5'' components (x2)front
-Kenwood 4x10'' KFC-415C's (x2)rear
-Rockford Fosgate 8 gauge wiring
-Rockford Fosgate 401s amp
-MTX sealed dual 10'' sub box
-Alpine Type-E 10'' subs (x2)
-Dynamat
New headunit pictured (with custom layer of dust)
As mentioned above, the head unit is a brand new Alpine CDE-9845. One of my favorite features about this HU besides the mp3/wma/cd-rw playback is the multiple colors you can choose.
The subs are Alpine Type E 10's in a simple, sealed MTX box. I chose this box, because it fits perfectly on the upper shelf of the trunk, behind the seats and under the rear decklid. This leaves me enough trunkspace leftover to easily fit my snowboard in the back too! The amp is a Rockford Fosgate 401s amp running 200 watt rms to each of the Type-E's. I'm also running an 8 gauge Rockford wiring kit. I used to have a custom sub grille that I made (pictured), but unfortunately the cold weather and merciless pounding of the woofers all but destroyed the thin plexi glass I made it out of.

Up front I have a set of little audiobahn 3.5's. These suckers are the same diameter as the last set of polks I had but they handle much more power. In fact, the magnets are so much bigger that they just barely fit in the dash. The tweeters are also detachable, which I took advantage of and stuck them on the A-pillar. The new location for the tweeters from dash to A-pillar made a miraculous improvement in sound stage.

I replaced the Kenwood 4x10's, which fit in the stock location, with a set of Pioneer 6x9's that I had sitting around for a while. The Kenwoods went into the Fiero, they fit conveniently in the front stock location. As you can see, more modification was required to get them to fit.
