Car: 1978 Pontiac Gran Prix body...never hit...The ultimate sleeper..car originally came with a 301/v8...nobody suspected a thing...till I smoked em! no markings on the car...nobody knew what was hiding under the hood!
Complete frame off restoration...then we started from scratch...
Suspension: Gulstrand engineering Nascar package
Engine:Originally from a 72 Tempest/Le Mans 400 h/o made into a Racing Head Service 430ci..balanced and blue printed original dyno 395hp/418tq
Heads: from a Pontiac 455 98cc comb. chamber...11.7-1 compression...on race fuel and rebuild from Karl's East Coast speed 525whp/563wtq...and yes..I went thru 6 trannys and 5 rear ends...they just couldnt take the power...This car ran consistent low 13's with a full 500lb stereo(17 spks, 5 amps,4 processors....I competed IASCA in 89,90, and 91
I found a set of original Ram Air exhaust manifolds to straight pipes...with flow master mufflers
most of the time I couldnt get out of the car quick enough! Lots of Fans!
Stereo: Alpine cda7995 version 1 The absolute best sounding cd player I ever had...Precision Power Amps:
1 2300...bridged to two Fosgate Pro 12's 1 PPI 2050 for 8" mid-bass drivers....electronically controlled Mids and tweeters...3 PPI 2030, Audio Control Epicenter, 4xs active electronic crossover,EQQ parametric eq,ESP-1 center channel processor die hard gold 900cca under the hood, Phoenix Gold 165 amp alt. 1/0 cable...Die Hard deep cycle in the trunk...multiple custom dist blocks for power,trigger, and signal leads.
Cuistom fitted Auto Meter gauges,and audio controls...lots of work there(thanks Darren)
