Project

grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire yea i know it's not painted yet but it's a project in the process
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire here is a good look at it from the side to see the bumper a lot lower than the rest of the body
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire yea thats 3 inches above the ground
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire about 6 here
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Here is a shot at her fat butt!!
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Just put a mesh in. Looks so much better
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Just got around to fitting the side skirts. Lots of modification had to be made. There were lots of gaps in the fit, so we had to shave down some parts to make a perfect fit. As of now all that is left to be done is final sanding on the skirts and door pannels, fitting the back bumper and sanding, and custom dual y-pipe exhaust.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfirewell i've gone into taking on a more extensive project. I was at first going to paint the kit the same color as the rest of the car. But my firnd and I decieded it would look much more bad ass if it were black. So this is a ways through the progress, he has most of the picutes on his camera but this is the near completion pictures that I took with my camera.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThis back bumper was a fun little anoying peice. Take a look at the right side under the tail light cut out you can see plastic filler. Not all that is there we had to cut a peice of my stock bumper and fiberglass it to make it fit because it hung out from underneathe the tail light instead of tucking underneath it. A fun 3 hr project.

Progress continued...

grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBasicly these are pics on the new primer. Man it is beautiful!!
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireHere we are fiberglassing the cracks where the body kit fits against the car to give it a nice clean smooth look.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireTHE ONLY THING i hate about my body kit. It's imperfections!!! Here we have some warpped fiberglass. Well now we are gonna have to fix that aren't we.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfirethe other side, already fibered. I didn't shave it too much i still want the kit to flush out but be smooth looking.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireAhww...Sanding is so much easier now. Gotta love paint remover. It works wonders. Zero sanding here right now.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireA look at the remover doing its best.

And some more progress...

grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire This is after all of the body work and a coat of primer. I haven't primed the body kit yet because im trying to get a feel for the ride. I already know now it is too low so i need to buy some lowering springs rather than my coilovers, that are already set as high as they can, and for some reason they are still lowering my car. (the back anyway)
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire and the bumper molding begins
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac SunfireWell, I decided to take off the wing, it looked weird to me, and I was actually liking hte smooth clean look to a non-winged car.
grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire

WOOO HOOO!! PAINT!!!

grnFire's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
