A Blast From The Past

From Plain Jane

To Gasser Style

After reading many articles about 60's and 70's style Gassers, I decided to build an old school Chevy Nova straight axle Gasser for the street. I wanted something that is not normally seen at cruise nights and local car shows, a real eye catcher.
In September of 2002, I purchased a plain Jane 1963 Chevy Nova 6 cylinder 2 door sedan, only hoping to have it finished in time for sunday nostalgia less than 10 months away.
After months of blood, sweat, and tears, the car was finally finished and ready for the Sunday Niagara Gasser reunion at Lancaster Speedway.
The body of the car is mainly fiberglass, including the entire front end and bumpers. The paint I chose to use was a Viper Blue base coat clear coat with prism metal flake. The powerplant is a 406 cubic inch small block chevy with all the goodies. The transmission is a B&M TH 350 and B&M 3000 torque converter. The rear end is a 12 bolt chevy with 4.88 gears & lakewood traction bars. The front end straight axle kit is from MAS racing products.
