you can put the 31 on with no problem. you don't need a lift for that

Nice Jeep AJ. I'll give you my $0.02. You can go with a spacer lift (also known as a budget boost). Rubicon Express makes a real good 2 inch kit that includes decent shocks for $200.00. That would work good with 31x10.5s. Another option is a 2-2.5" coil lift. More expensive and more involved, but it'll flex more. Although flexing is not necessary if you won't be going off-road. You can usually fit 32x11.5s under these. I have a Teraflex 2" coil lift. Check it out at http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/552672 . Drop me a line if I can answer any questions. Peace.

Budget and light offroading. I'd say lift just enough to put 33's at the most. you can find 2" lifts at budget prices and put 32's under them. you will have to get new rims with the correct backspacing so you don't rub when you turn. Just my own thought but I wouldn't get a light bar. I like to wheel and I see people lose their lights to branches and people like to steal them too. even with light wheeling you should look into skid plates and diff covers cause without a lift you will occasionally clobber your underside. Come check out my TJ it's built more than you want but it's cool. later
