This is my '83 Marquis. I bought her in Virginia, July 2004. It is a stock 5.0L V8 CFI that runs beautifully. The block was replaced in 1998 and the tranny was rebuilt in 1997.

These are all the pics of the car before I bought it.

just bought an 83 for $400, less than 100K km, few oil drips, 351 runs so smooth a loony stands on end. LOVE the big car ride. ANy ideas where i could find some window channel for the front windows?

Hey, MrLandYacht just pointed out your ride from over at GrandMarq.net, and I like it! Very, very clean. I don't suppose you've joined our little forum yet? :-) Yeah, for the motor, your 302 is a decent foundation, but the CFI is an issue when upgrading. Easiest options are to do a complete SEFI swap (stock 5.0 HO or aftermarket) or to throw a carb on it (Edelbrock's 1403, for example). Good luck, and I'll look for you at GMN! (ps. If you ever ditch the old-style multifunction switch in favor of a steering-wheel horn button, let me know - I'm trying to scare up a couple of those things!)

you could prolly rig it up to have cruise control. I dont know how to do it, post it in the Tech area on GMN, I am sure someone would know how to do it.

ooohoo. Very nice Merk. I especially like the pic with the sun gleaming off the side. very nice choice of wheels, btw!
you should join our Grand Marquis forum, GrandMarq.Net.
as far as the motor, if you could build up a 351, that would be really sweet. but 302s are easy to build as well. I'm building a 302 for my Merc, but its bored to 306 since I had it cleaned and machined.
