Just another typical FC. Started as a non turbo, and now is turbo. End of story ^_^. Feel free to leave comments and feedback!
Update (10/18/05)
Well, I picked up the replacement TII driveline. Its a little bit rusty so I have to clean it up and maybe give it a good coat of paint. By the looks of it I still need to get a few more things: SS brake lines, new brake rotors, aftermarket driveline and suspension bushings/mounts. Bushings and mounts are not completely necessary, but I figure I might as well do it while the car's apart. I also have a really good condition stock clutch which I can hopefully use, but I really have no idea how much power I'll be making so I don't know if it'll slip or not. Finally I also got a aluminum TII hood with a bit of damage. It doesn't look too bad so I'm sure I can get it lookin pretty decent again ^_^. Some pics of the driveline stuff in my garage are on page 10.
Update (08/22/05)
Finally got around to pulling the transmission, thanks to B and Andriy for the help! Anyways some pics are on page 10, you can see how rusty the rear end was lol. I doubt I will get it together this year (due to lack of funds) but still got a few things to do with the engine and thats probably all thats going to get done this year =(.
Update (07/12/05)
Yes! Finally paid off a TII driveline. Should be able to pull it out of the donor car in a few weeks and after this cheque should have enough money to get myself a nice clutch + flywheel setup! Hopefully have the FC back on the roads mid to end of Aug ^_^
Update (06/04/05)
Well, I lost 5th gear and reverse.. So its time for a turbo driveline. I should have that paid off and on the road again by end of summer. Hopefully I'll have enough to throw in a lightened flywheel and some kind of street/strip clutch while the transmission is out. With any luck I'll have a dyno sheet up here too so I can tell if this was a total waste of time or not hahaha.
Update (10/16/04)
Well first snow fall up here. The car has some high rpm hesitation problems but has been put into storage for now. I decided since my car is gonna have alot of down time next year I needed an alternative mode of transport so I got myself a nice lil 1989 Yamaha FZR400 to run around on. Pics are on page 9.
Update (09/02/04)
Well she lives, I'll make a new pager later today with pics. Runs well but the usual BOV sound has changed, it might be compressor surge but I'm not too sure... gotta check over install again. Hopefully have enough money to head to dyno now.
Update (08/29/04)
Well, all mechanical stuff is done, and I decided to go with a 3" TID instead of air filter just on the turbo. Luckily I had enough left over piping from the AEM intake to make it. The E-Manage has been fully installed and mounted, pics on page 8. Almost done painting (really crappy job) and hopefully have it back on the raod in a week!
Update (08/12/04)
I eneded up getting the S5 bumper and FEED replica lip (on page 7). All thats left now is some painting (my fender and bumper) and one more vac line before I can start it up and head down to the dyno for some wideband tuning. Hopefully have some numbers posted soon.
Update (08/09/04)
The intercooler has been fitted and completely installed. I have made arrangements for a lower lip because the lower part of bumper will be cut away so I need something to help force air in. The lip hopefully will be a FEED replia lip, if things go smooth I might be able to pick up a S5 bumper as well to match the lip. The gutted AEM Prelude 5th Gen CAI made pretty good intercooler piping and I was able to fit the air filter right on the turbo, thus eliminating the turbo inlect duct.
Update (07/31/04)
Well cars been out for a while now with the intercooler install. Its going ok, but it had to be mounted infont of the frame rails because that was the only place that allowed me to easily run piping. Page 7 will have in-progress pics.
Update (06/30/04)
After breaking down at the last Autox due to an electrical short, I think it is ready to go again. I've recently purchased a bar and plate, dual density Precision Turob intercooler and have to throw that on. Will have pics and probably my dyno run in a week or 2. Pics of the intercooler can be found in the Misc. Turbo Stuff section.
Update (06/08/04)
I finally picked up a FD alternator to hopefully make good voltage at idle. The stock alternator is a piece of crap seriously. However, it did not come with the dual alternator pulley, so hopefully sort that out and have a good idle. Still looking for a better intercooler but I don't think that is going through anytime soon. If I don't find one soon, I'll just dyno as is and hopefully have a dyno sheet posted soon!
Update (05/08/04)
Well, the stock turbo I had siezed, so I sourced one up off the net, but I have no clue what it is, its just larger compressor than stock with a stock s5 side. Luckily the custom downpipe I had made bolted right up! However, there were some fittament issues, a big thanks to Trowa_29 for his help in this repair! Couldn't have been done without his help!
