1990 FSM Niki

This car was concieved after swapping for a sub box , it had been rolled and the roof was a tad crooked so we did the logical thing and cut it off.If you look closely at the rear guards you can see where it rolled on both of them , so excuse the panel work as it has its reasons for being a bit out of shape.

Once the roof was off we welded the doors closed from the inside then took off the door handles. While we were at it we removed the bumpers and any shit hanging off the outside. I then had a mate who just happens to be a panel beater , weld some plates in where the door handles used to be and filled all the unneccesary holes on the outside. After a bit of rubbing bak and grinding it ws ready for the GMH paint , colour is Hothouse green.

With several coats of this applied we then covered it in clear and it was really startin to look like a new car again (well sort of). while this was going on I ordered some trim that comes standard in new commodes that matches the green paint. Had a local trimmer that does work for me trim em up and they look sweet as.

Before it went for painting I built an esky out of MDF and fibreglass that slots in the front and keeps drinks cold while we are cruising. Also in the front is a 240v inverter for the lights that run round the underside of the car. We put in a brand new battery and re-ran all the wiring new from front to back , as the dash was now bare I put the switch panel in center which controls the horns , ignition , starter , deck , amps , lights and neons.

Also under the bonnet is a 4 channel Alpine amp that runs a 10" Pioneer sub mounted in an enclosure in the footwell on the passenger side. The other 2 channels run a pair of Pioneer 6x9s that are in a custom back shelf that also has 2 more seats for cruising. The system is headed by a Pioneer tape deck and 12 disc stacker.

The rest of the interior was treated to black carpet that runs all the way up and over the doors so your dont burn your ars when you get in.The only other addition to the inside is aclaxton horn mounted under the dash.

The outside has been done by Signpower with ads for the people that help me built the car. I got 4 brnad new bridgestone 155/45 R12 tyres and while these were coming the rims were powder coated silver , with the center caps being colour coded to the body.We also added some stainless bars front and back to give it a less of a bath tub look.

Next thing to do was the motor , it sounded like a vacuum cleaner , we stripped it down to find a 10mm gap in the head gasket , not good , once fixed and back together it recieved some black paint and looked brand new.

We took it to a show in Kal and ran it up on the dyno where it made 17.1Hp @ the wheels.With plans for a turbo it could get interesting.
