Team KAL SPL cars
We have a team of 3 cars for the RBCAD 2003 season , consists of the Starlet , Echo and A Mazda 323 sedan. In 1 season we picked up around 30 trophies for the 3 cars.
Erins Echo
This car belongs to Darryls girlfriend , he builds all the cars , it has won every comp it has been to and with only 1500wrms it went past 150Db , getting 4000wmrs soon it will be setup to tackle the Street A record for Aus in the 2004 season.
You can see the XT15 which is in a box that is specified by Crossfire , it has had no testing or tuning since it was built as it has not been beaten , there is alot more in this car in the future. The car runs 2 Kicker 600.1s but will be swapped for 2 VR2000Ds soon. There is second battery below the amps which makes it inelligable for Street A but that will be disconnected soon.
Got 1 VR2000 in to run for show , have to upgrade fuse at front for challenge of Street A record for Aus.Once I get the meter back I can do some testing then once Ive got it sorted we will double the power , look out 150Db here I come.
This is my sub its the XT15 from Crossfire and is getting 2000wrms and hope to do 150Db on the new Termlab.net
Brads Mazda 323
This is our SPl slut and test mule , winning more firsts than pretty much all cars for the 2003 season.
This is the record we are proud of , in a sedan with the seats down and only 1 ten inch sub we posted 152.2Db , using 2 BMF1000Ds strapped making around 2200wrms. The box is Kicker specs ported box that is tuned to 49Hz , firing backwards it surprised all of us.The sub is an off the shelf Crossfire 10" BMF W10D and it still works. You can see the setup below and obviously no rocket science just testing and more testing.
This boot is setup so the box is removable , the amps and battery are placed so they take up minimal room , the top of this box is swapped so we can run the 8" or the 6x9s in the same box.
1 Crossfire 8" midbass straight off the shelf running off a BMF1000D , being a 3ohm speaker it would have 'only' been getting 600wrms , even after quite a few burps it still goes sweet.
1 pair of Kicker 6x9s which are free air subs , 8ohm sigle voice coils. Parralled onto 1 BMF1000D running @ 4ohm getting 500rms they did 142.6Db , they smelt very taostie after a couple of burps but none the less they still run.

This is us at Final battle in Sydney as team KAL_SPL to take on the rest of Australia. With 1 10" sub we got 146Db in a hire car built the day prior to the show. We ended up with 4th and beaten by a girl!!! but its all good cause we met lots of people just as crazy as us.

With this pair of 6x9s we did an official 142.6Db on Audiocontrol meter in 2003 at an RBCAD event , they are stock as Kicker free air speakers put in an enclosure and ported , was used in the boot of a small sedan with no more than 500wmrs.
This is our juke box for parties , as you can tell we dont do things by halves !!
