The original motor was a 305 2barrel Vin U. That motor blew up because a pushrod blew threw the rocker and that was the end of that motor. With the stock motor in it not much could beat it. My friend has a 1980 Corvette and a 1980 Trans Am, put it this way those two cars could not touch the 78 in anyway!!
It now has a 350 with the old 2 barrel on it. In my mind that carb is a 4 barrel at heart cause it sounds like and performs like but doesn't suck down the gas as much. Exhaust is Hooker Headers into 2 thrush cherrybombs and pipes are pointed to the ground right after the cherrybombs (exhaust dump). Really pounds the ground. Car has a pull so hard you can't get your head out of the seat until you let off! I still have the original motor/trans.
I have entered it into 2 car shows. The first show I placed 3rd out 35 cars. The second show placed 4 place out of 47 cars. Alot of people said they never saw one like this before.
