Revised 05/25/09

At the moment I am building a 3500/3400 hybrid with forged pistons and more boost....stay tuned for pictures and performance dyno numbers......Mike Miller's providing a boost grind cam that should make things interesting as well.....new pages with the hybrid will start appearing after the holidays. I am still waiting on GM to come out with a metal set of UIM and LIM gaskets or Felpro....someone...please. The 3400 ones wont work with a hybrid.

UPDATE: Topend sold off the donor 3400 and the block is in the shop for cleanup and Crank Grind and new bearings and larger oil pump. "Dale the Redneck" machinist is also going to do some opening of the oil ports as well as shot peening and cryotreating some of the critical parts. I should have Mike Miller's cam and seals and spring washers in about three weeks and the bottom will be complete. Unfortunately the heads have to be torn down again to put Mikes seals in as the valve guides have to be turned down in order to accomidate them. Better now than later....especially under boost.

I have decided to go all the way with ARP fasteners on the top and bottom as well as the crank and flywheel so they are also on order(damn things are expensive ,but....worth every penny Also Felpro has FINALLY come up with a metal LIM gasket set for the 3500 LIM.........YEAH !!!!!!.

There are some CNC peices I would love to have but until I can find a source I guess they are out. Seems 60dergree V6.com has banned me for having an opinion and they took their toys and went home. I suggest you avoid Ben and Brad and that site if you have an opinion other than theirs. If you are looking to go fast and you have a 60 degree V6 go to Milzymotorwork.com and deal with an adult...ie...Mike Miller.

Stay tuned as this is finally getting off the ground....the 3400/3500 hybrid that is...soon Ihope to see some real numbers to boast about......fingers crossed and one finger up to you Ben and Brad......keep driving your moms car and maybe you will one day have one for yourself thats younger than you are......maybe.

MonteLS02's 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Welcome to my Monte LS. I bought this car just after "THE CRASH" at Daytona.

MonteLS02's 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I was in the stands at turn #4 when it happened and cought it all on my HandyCam. This is my way of paying tribute to the legend. I couldnt afford the Dale Earnhardt Edition or even an SS for that matter but I think this car will eventually be better than the two combined. I have found out though that teching out an LS 3400 is a tough thing to accomplish seeing as though all performance tweeks tend to sway the SS 3800 way. There is a will and there is a way and as you will see very soon this little LS will smoke quite well. Thanks for looking and please give as much feedback as possible on how to make this project better.

hey nice car....i have the dale earnhardt ss 2002. So it looks just like this...i really like the hood scoop you have, and i was wondering how much it costs for installation, also if I jsut got a bolt on, would that be cheaper and better looking, or something like yours is better?

Now that is NICE, great work all around. I gave you 5 stars. It is always nice to see individual custom work. Check out my 1st Gen. Monte when you get a chance. Our cars would look great in a side by side photo.
