Had to put the "bling" on the fenders. Turned out pretty good. A little nerve racking drilling into a perfect fender with no holes, but it all turned out alright.
I finally quit procrastinating and hooked up the radio. I now have tunes. I also got the dash pad to fit properly. My new (maybe only temporary nickname for the car is "Red Horse". Why? Check out the pony emblem on the glove compartment door. I decided to do something different with the tired looking emblem). Me with the title and bill of sale.
The wheels/tires were off the previous owner's 70 Mach 1 that is/was in the shop, so he put some rollers on. I planned on new shoes for the pony so here they are. (Pics from this point on are after delivery)
BELOW: Had to improve the interior panels. Paint was too glossy for me. I stripped all of them, acquired a replacement corner piece for one that was cracked/damaged and then sprayed them with interior lacquer from National Parts Depot. I also got some chrome type paint and redid the rear panel courtesy lights and sail panel vent louvers and trim piece. Not as good as a rechroming, but pretty darn good (good enough for driver quality). Included is a pic of my new steering wheel (a mahogany one from Grant). I'm switching to Deluxe interior ("Pony") and got new kick panels. I installed the carpet and trim.
Finally got the back panels and trim put back in. It won't win any concourse awards but it looks pretty good.
Updated interior pics. All put back together with new floor mats.
Engine pic:
Future plans are to paint the valve covers red and install an export brace and monte carlo bar (I have those in the garage already).
Here are what the Torque Thrust wheels look like after going from gray to gloss black. I think the black will look much better with the red. Notice that I detailed the center cap, too (red lettering).
Here is an updated engine bay pick. The valve covers will do for now. I have the monte carlo bar installed but not the export brace yet. (Yes, I know the wiring needs tidying up.)
