Lada Sputnik Revolution 1.3 - Sound and thermal isolation
___________________________________________________________________________________
Since I read some articles on how to upgrade your car and how to help it make less noise in the cockpit I have decided to do the additional sound and thermal isolation in my Sputnik. As for the time being I have only done the work on lef tand right door, B pole and the insides of left and rear sidewing. Unfortunately I have taken the pictures only for the insides of rear wings, as I forgot my phone when I put the isolation on the doors. Updates to come :)
The plan is to put the isolation also on the inside od the hood, rear door, trunk and the both sides of the panel between the engine and the cockpit.
Here is the material used for the isolation (6mm felt) and the covers for the inside in the cockpit, surrounding the rear seat.
The inside of the right wing - dusted, just removed the cover.
And the inner side of the left wing. Again, dusted.
Felt on the right B pole. The plastic that covers this makes large sqeaky noise, so the felt will do.
the inside of the rear right wing, cleaned and prepared for the glueing of the felt.
Again, but with felt on both holes.
Here's the close-up of the work I've done.
Here's the sound and thermal isolation installed on the inside of the engine cover. Now the engine isn't that noisy and it reaches it's working temperature much faster. It also keeps the working temperature in the proper range.
