A small Lada Club Meeting in Belgrade. Here are the photos.
December 2007.
--------------------------------------
Me and my friend from Lada Club Serbia, Milan, got together in Belgrade for a coffee and a drink and I saw his beautiful Lada Samara. He's calling it "Guja". It's something really worth seeing and the guy is just starting the work on it. Check it out.
Guja and Sputnik from behind.
And again, but the shot is quite lower. I love the color it really suits it and it looks very good with the original brown interior.
Both of our cars were resting. Guja was fresh painted and restored.
Sputnik and Guja from the top.
And again from behind. Milan is just to start to work on the small details and the interior.
But the only thing I think that doesn't suit Milan's Guja are the black tinted rear lights. But, hey, it's just my opinion, he really likes it.

After two weeks of intensive rain my car looked probably at one of it's worst conditions. All dirty, muddy and even the headlights couldn't give a proper light because of all the dirt on the headlight glass. This is why I really hate autumn...
All muddy and I was really embarressed to drive it like this.
Even the rear and front mudguards didn't help at all. The car is at it's worst exterior condition as I remember.
Even the "Sputnik" sing looked awful...
But, the same day I managed to wash it completely. I knot that this condition doesn't last long, specially because the winter is approaching and it can only get worse, but hey - I'm enthusiast, and will keep on preserving this "teenage car" (16 years old) for a while.
But, then a moment of pleasure of driving the Sputnik to the carwash came...
...and the small beauty got back it's metallic-green glance...
...and was standing proudly on the parking lot infront of my building.
Even the "Sputnik" sign was shining and reflecting the years of hard work on this car...
...although the reflection of the cloudy sky was all over it, threatning to rain again...
...and spoin my mood. But it wasn't to be. The car remained nice and shiny all week.

On the Lada Club Serbia small meeting, Vigmir has shot my car with his camera.
The guys are interested in the car, looking at the boot...
And Sputnik standing alone and proud.
July 2007.
--------------------------------------
I have changed all four springs and front shock absorbers (rears were changed last year). Also, I have takes a photo/two of a new rear exhaust pot with a new exhaust pipe. It sounds really great now!
With the new shock absorbers and new springs on all four wheels. Now the Sputnik sits much higher than it used to be.
And it's much more pleasant to drive, the ride height is also much better.
And again shot from the rear...
...where you can see the new rear exhaust.
And here's the details of the new rear ehxaust. The new exhaust is from some firm called "Real Sport Exhaust". Unfortunatelly, that was all I could digg up about the exhaust. No more data, nothing.
And here it is again, raised, just shot from the back again.
And again... just to remember, that it's a Sputnik!

Biljana and I were at our friend's resting house, so I took a few shots of our cars there. My friend Sale drives a 2005 white Lada Niva which is in GREAT shape, really. Have a look!
All of our cars together. Our metallic green Sputnik, Sale's white Niva and his parents' dark green Yugo.
Sale's Niva in the tree shade.
And, of course - our Sputnik in the shades.
And here's when we came back from the 80km trip. It took a while for me to wash it, because it had loads of sand in in the wheels.
April 2007.
--------------------------------------
Biljana and I are always leaving our bikes for the winter, because we don't want them to catch the rust, altought both of them are chromed. So, when the first sunshine appears, we go with our Sputnik to bring them back to the house.
Sputnik has the roof bars mounted, together with two bike carriers.
And here's how it looks from the front...
...and from the back.
And, of course, bikes mounted on the roof, ready to be taken back to our house. Yipeee, now we're going to cycle everytime we can!

After completely repairing the engine and changed wheels and tyres, I have found some time to polish my lovely car, give it a protection for a whole month and - voila. Here's are the new photos of my car.
After polishing the car I found some time to take new pictures of it.
And with the new wheels the car looks pretty damn good!
Sputnik, gazing into the evening sun...
Two nice pictures on the Sputnik's behind. The rear exhaust pot it still there doing it's job.
You've looked on it's left side, so here's the right side :) And below... is the most attractive photo of this session. Enjoy!

The latest pictures, just few of them, while on our trip and vacation to Zlatibor. I mounted the roof holder, and bike holders for my and my girlfriend's bikes. Check them out.
My girlfriend Biljana and our Sputnik before the start of our trip. We were waiting for our friends to get their car from the driveway.
Our Sputnik resting, after the successful 350km trip to Zlatibor.
Sputnik in the grass, discuized :)
And here are my two most precious things in front of the restaurant on our way back. Once again, Sputnik did a great job!

Finally, I got the new Canon PowerShot A530 camera, and one of the first pictures I took were the photos of my newly restored car. Check them out.
This is a new look of my car, as both front and rear bumper were painted in two colour combination - black / chasis color. Also, the hood, roof and rear door have also been repainted.
The back side with the repainted bumpers and new chromed badges on the trunk door.
These are new badges on my Sputnik, which I bought in United Kingdom on May 2006, while I was in Portsmouth. They look and fit perfectly! Note: Check out the reflection in the paint - there is also a neighbour's Samara nearby :)
Also, I got the letters to form word 'Sputnik'. Although it isn't cyrilic, I think that latin look also damn good!
And here's the paint job done on the front bumper.
July 2005.
--------------------------------------
And these three pictures are taken just few months after the car came back from the paintshop. Take a look at the pictures.
You can see both sidemarker lights on the car, the thing I was talking about.
Unfortunately both black stripes were ripped of because they were crap and quite old. As much as they were good, they were awful for my eyes.
And the back of the car. No more rust, it's all fixed and repainted. Don't you just love it?
June 2005.
--------------------------------------
Preparing the car for the bodywork repairs. I was removing all the door panels, all manufacturer and model markings, etc, etc... You can see how many rust car had just after 4 years of my ownership. It was is pretty bad shape.
Ready to be take aparat - literaly.
The rust above the rear left wheel - this is the place where most of the rust appeared...
...beside the trunk door, of course. :)
We also removed these ugly rubber "panels" on the side of the car, which looked quite ugly. Both doors were also begining to rust from the outside...
...and from the inside, also :)
I am removing the door panel from the right door.
And I'm having some small trouble with it... :)
C'MOOOOON!!! Get out!!!
January 2004.
--------------------------------------
This is my car at it's worst! :) I was just getting back from the coffeeshop with my friend, who took these pictures. It was snowing all night and all day, and you can see the results... :) Perhaps you can see the white sidemarkers, not the fronts signal lights but the sidemarkers, which are red on other pictures. These are somewhat handmade. Explanation on next page...
August 2003.
--------------------------------------
This is after I found white front signal lights. I searched for those for a whole year, here in Serbia... I also changed both headlights, as I smashed the right... A little misfortune with VW Golf... :)
A back of the car. You might see a bit of the rust on the edge of the back door. That is what I have to fix on the summer of 2004.
Another back side picture, but in perspective. I love the look of the car from here! :)
Just to show you that the search was over half way! Found the white signal lights! On this picture you can see the Eurolites Xenon bulbs (a little blue touch in the headlights), but you can't see the Osram's bulbs on the signal lights. I only took those on fall 2003.
Shadowed car... The dark side of Samara :)
Another front picture of Sputnik...
And perhaps the best picture I took! :) As on this picture the car is also polished like a baby's ass :), the reflection and the chasis protection is maximal. Hope you like it!
Spring 2003.
--------------------------------------
Okay, so... Here's the cutie before I got my hands on white front signal lights and before I sprayed the bumpers in black.
Washed, cleaned, polished, wheels cleaned and polished, tires sprayed with Turtle Wax's Wet'n'Black, perfumed... :) A nice position to show the agressive front of the car.
Just couldn't resist the temptation! It was shining all day, and I tried to position the car so the sunshine would fit perfectly for the camera.
Another side picture. Taked on the road just outside my building. You can see the difference between the gray bumpers here and the black ones on the pictures later. You can even see the shine on the tires.
Just another photo from the front, all together with the reflections from the surroundings... I hate to say that the neighbour's car got into the objective...
One of my favourite photos. Behind of the car, which shows the back lights coloured in red. I love it like that! I was considering whether I should do it but... You can even see the RS Sport exhaust pipe.
