Here are some interior pics. www.edmunds.com rated the Prius as having one of the top 10 interiors.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 4 Here you see the double glove boxes

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 5 Hatchback: and also there's a hidden trunk underneath the carpet.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 7 Ample legroom. In fact it has more than an Audi A8, the Camry, and the Honda Accord.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 13 Here's a nice example of the steering wheel buttons, head unit, and the STANDARD 7" LCD Color Touchscreen that comes with EVERY Prius. How eco-friendly is the interior? Well Toyota has developed new technology that actually allowed the Prius to use plant-derived plastics. Normal plastic uses petroleum which is harmful to the environment.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 14 Here is a nice shot of the interior and the fabric. Ivory fabric looks really clean but it seems like it will get dirty quickly, right? Actually the Prius's cloth is a type of microfiber so it's easy to wipe stuff off.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 15 Another image of the rear seats and how clean looking it is. (IMO)

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 16 Here's a nice image of the touchscreen. Right now its showing the power flow of the hybrid synergy drive. The touchscreen also houses the Radio, CD player and the AUTOMATIC climate control (with electronicly powered A/C-doesnt run off the belt so you dont lose power). Song names are shown from the CD if you use Nero and Radio station names also show up. All of this is accessible by the steering wheel too.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 17 Here's the shift knob. It's completely by-wire so I dont have a bulky shift lever that goes down to a transmission. Prius can do this cause it doesnt even have a transmission! I know you're probably thinking I'm BSing but its true. It uses the ELECTRIC motor for the transmission which allows it to have the optimum RPM for ANY condition. That's why Toyota classifies it as an electronically controlled CVT. This means the car never shifts because it doesnt have gears to shift to. No more worrying about transmission repairs!

edit: a lot of people have commented on the fact that a CVT is a transmission, and I was also wrong to say that the Prius does not have a transmission. However, the continuously varying gear ratios do not come from the transmission, they come from the electric motor. This is why the Prius does not carry the conventional idea of a transmission, but it employs the literal definition of a transmission, which is the transfer of power from the engines to the wheels.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 20 Here's the top of the electric motor, this really actually houses the capacitors.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 22 Here's an example of the backlit buttons and in the far right you can see the climate control screen on the touch screen.

ltboomer's 2005 Toyota Prius Galactica, MO - 21 Here's an example of HID lights vs. normal lights. HID is on the right. The HID's are actually self leveling headlights that aim higher at highway speeds. The Prius is only one of two cars (to my knowledge) that don't use projector HID's. I believe it actually spreads the light much farther than normal..

Well i'm pretty much done and this car is costing me only 23k. Not to mention I also get a 2000 dollar tax deduction from the government and I save 1200 dollars a year on gas alone.

Power-wise its comparable to a Honda Element. It's actually faster than an H2 in its 0-60 since the Prius has 295 lbs of torque available at low RPM's from its electric motor. Also.. since the Prius can use its electric motor and its Petrol motor at the same time, you can cumulate the torque from both engines.

edit: My brother has driven both the Mazda3 1.7L (auto) and he though it lacked power compared to my Prius.

Enjoy :)
