This is my 1994 Ranger Splash. I bought it used in 1996 and have had it since. Currently it's pushing 140k on the origanal 4.0L V-6. It is used as a dailey driver, off road play, and for rescue and brush fire work with the locall volunteer fire department. It is one of only 4 4x4's at our station and besides the brush truck, the only off-road ready unit for the bad areas and during winter weather. Pictures here were taken in an area my department is responsible for for fire protection. The trail area is one where frequent ATV injuries occure and access is limited to smaller vehicles.
The truck started off as a stock truck and had the 3" Rough Country suspention lift added about 4 years ago. That's when it all started to my wife's dismay. Rancho shocks and a Rancho steering stabalizer calmed the front down. 33x10.50x15 tires are keeping things up there. A Warn M8000 winch mounted on a Warn Transformer brush guard gets me past the things I can't drive through for now.
Just this weekend I finished installing the Hypertech computer chip before heading out to take these pics. It rounds out the cold air intake kit from Kurtz Kustom Filters and the Flowmaster exhaust with 3" custom tubing from the cat on back. Truck really seems to move now.
Somewhere out there someone will ask, so I'll add it here. Being a firefighter/EMt, we are authorized lights and siren in this state. The Ranger is equipped with a Federal Signal JetStream lightbar (slightly modified by myself); front grill LED lights from Sound-Off; a deck LED from 911 Emergency Products; and a random headlight flasher. Controlling it all s a 200 watt Federal Signal PA400 siren/light controller with dual 100w sirens mounted to the brush guard. Also mounted is a 45 watt county VHF radio and an amature 2m/440cm radio. All this in a custom console mount done by myself (pics forthcoming). Rounding out the emergency gear is a chainsay, K-12 powersaw, axe, shovel, trauma med kit with oxygen kit, and self recovery kit. Not much room for more.
