This page is dedicated to Spc McCaffrey and Lt. Tyson who lost their lives in an ambush on June 22nd. These were the only photos I got of that day. They were both dedicated soldiers and were committed to what they did. They were taken too soon.

A chopper giving us air support over the Tigris at around 530 in the morning. One of the squads heading out on patrol of the first area.

These photos were taken at around 1030 am. Everyone is exhausted but McCaffrey doesnt rest and instead helps SSG Sarla who has come down with heat exhaustion. The medic, PFC Woodbury checks his blood pressure.

Everyone is tired and hungry. We had already been on foot patrol for about 5 and a half hours. Bowdoin has also recieved an I.V. bag due to heat exhaustion.

The picture on the right was taken a half hour before the ambush occured. This is the site of the ambush. The attackers hit them from the other side of the wall on the left. My group had already searched this area and I still don't know why the other group came down here. We were supposed to meet up with them in the tree line on the right of the photo.

This photo of Lt. Tyson (standing in front of the humvee) was taken back in Ft. Irwin.

Mac smiling after recieving some flowers and apples from some children in a local village.

I'm not sure when this was taken but it's the only one I've found with both Lt. Tyson and Mac in it. They may be gone but they will never be forgotten.

Mac was a driver on the convoy from Kuwait to Iraq. He will be missed by all the lives he touched.
