We never drive with lights on during the night, so I have to wear night vision. These are my platoons' humvee's lined up before a mission. We had almost the entire company out on this one and even some choppers. We were seaching the area for ambush sites. Although there was no one to aim at here, I scanned my area while the sun began to set. This is an M118 recovery vehicle, some of my squad had to escort this in to pull out the tank in the next picture. Most of us thought it was going to go.... Very close to going over but in the end, with the help of the M118 and another tank they managed to save the tank. I figured out a way to mount my camera on my weapon. It looks like one of those first person shooter games. Very Cool! Spc Aponte was going to give me the money he owed me wether he wanted to or not. This is what we look like while on QRF. When were waiting to get called out that is. Waiting and waiting. An early morning shot of me and my Cadillac I got my hummer stuck in some mud. I had been through this area before and I knew you had to floor it all the way through. The guy in front of me stopped in the middle and we just didn't have enough juice to make it the rest of the way. We eventually got out though. If you look closely you can see the blonde Iraqi kid. A blonde Iraqi Kid? Yes, I know it sounds strange but he looked even stanger. Here are a couple soldiers on a balcony. We had to wait out in our trucks in this city. The officers were taking part in the citys' council meeting. Meanwhile, kids are coming up to the truck and either trying to sell stuff or beg for money/food. They were looking for an explosive that had gone off and hit a humvee. Even though we're considered infantry now, we still pull out the mine detectors on our patrols. Here our medic is patching up one of the local kids after he cut open his finger. The group of kids in this pic were all very pro american. Most kids are but in this village none of them really begged for anything, it was a little odd. On this day it got to 124 degrees. Paul got some heat exhaustion so Mac treated him. Everything turned out all right. Nice B&W pics of my Team Leader Sgt McClurg and another one of me. The Double Deuce. My squad is called that because we're 2nd squad, 2nd platoon in the company. Our squad leader decided to finally get a photo of all of us and have a flag made too. This is a camel spider. Pretty scary looking huh? They are pretty harmless to humans. This one is only a baby. They can get up to 4 ft. in diameter. Pictures of those will be up soon.
