The mustang muffler story.
Well, cherry bombs (the original dual exaust I had rigged up) are reeeaaaly loud, enter friend with 01 mustang GT, $40 a piece for his OE muffler, he's getting Flowmasters. I've heard OE mufflers are quiet but still give good performance as long as the donor car has a bigger engine.(crappy OE flow+smaller engine=performance muffler)
They are pretty deep, not too quiet-just enough give this engine a nice rumble, turns lots of heads!!
To create duals on a stock crossover-dependent exhaust system, cut the crossover pipe and turn it to the rear, clamp or weld, and Viola!! However, take care not to bring the pipe too close to the shift linkage, or the car will not go into low (like mine) or worse, will not go into drive!!
Take the piece of crossover left over and seal it up as shown
Here's the story in pics...

see the pics here too. great ideas for those of you who might be crazy enough to want to do your own exhaust on an A-body. I don't claim to have a very nice system, but at last you might be able to see where I went wrong and not do that Click here for a gallery of the exhaust system
