FJ HOLDEN CONVERTIBLE .CUSTOM BUILD RETRO 50'S. This feature is from a 1950's Modern Motor magazine. Covers chasis fitted, custom panels reshaped and body panels sourced from other makes, with all work performed in steel.The artical gives actual dimensions of changes to wheelbase and lengthening of panels etc so this would be availuable to people planning making these type of mods in there back yard.Shame there is none around today still.Looks awsome.

  

These picture where taken in 2001 out at a wreacking yard in Kingaroy Qld .The yard is now closed ,locals state that the yard closed in 2003 and that all the cars where taken away by trucks from a scrap metal company in Brisbane Qld."What a shame."

FJ Holden Panel Van window-less.These are getting hard to find now,especially window-less.I found this one in a fellows shed in Tamworth NSW.He found it on a farm which was used for a chook pen.It is currently being restored.( March 2003)

The one and only four door FJ Holden Station Wagon ever made by GMH at Fisherman's Bend in 1954.It was then offered to the employees of the company. A lot of people rejected the offer ,BUT Ashley Dodge didn't buying it for L~907 with only 11 miles on the clock. Ashley has now passed it down to his son Neil which has keep it in it original condition even having it's original registration plate still fitted to it.

 

This poor old thing was once a FJ Ute.It is now a trailer .The front has been made into a tool box.A friend of mine is currently doing it up.(October 2002)

 

I found this 48-215 in a paddock near Kootingal N.S.W. The front has been changed over to a FJ. If you look closer at the pictures you can see the roof has been cut off (for a roll cage)and there is mesh placed where once was the windscreens. This was done to turn it into a speedway car,but looks like it never got finished and never will.(November 2004)

 

These three FJ Holdens I found on a property (2 utes and 1 sedan) were sitting up on a hill near Manilla N.S.W.(December 2004)

What a rare find. I found this on a property near Narrabri N.S.W. being a FJ Panel Van body #2641. I bought it on 22nd May 2005 for a really good price.

Three 48-215 Holdens I found sitting in a padock west of Ipwish QLD.The above centre one was being converted to a speedway car.(April 2005). 

 

I was driving along a dirt road in Tamworth and you would'nt belive I found this FJ Ute in a ditch beside the road. I could only work out it was a FJ not a 48-215 by the rear vision mirror and the speaker grill.What a find.(August 2005)

I found this FJ Sedan on the same property as the one above (hills of Boggabri).If you look closly to the pictures you will see there is a hole in the back part of the roof .From what the old fellow that owns it told me, they would stand on the back seat and hold onto the rail that is welded to the roof and shoot rabits from there while one was driving.(September 2005)

 

I found this old girl being a 48-215 (FX) Holden Ute close to Barraba N.S.W. With bullet holes up the passenger side ,the old tar battery still sitting in the engine bay , gross weight compliance plate still on the fire wall, old radio cover and gauges ect all still fitted to it, which told me not to many people knew where it was for it not to have been stripped.(October 2005)

 

Well I could'nt beleave my eyes when I saw this. There where 48-215's and FJ Holden Sedans and Utes everywhere ,I lost count after 20. This was better then the FJ Holden Grave Yard Picture. What a rare find west of Goondiwindi NSW. (Dec 2005)

I succeeded in starting the Holden Car Club up in Mackay QLD. 23rd of March 2004 the Club was officially incorperated, named "Mackay & District Holden Club". Presently there are 34 memmbers. Above is the club logo which was designed by Joshua Withers. I'm (to no surprise) President of the club, Joshua is the Secretary, and Amanda Moy (my wife) is the Treasure for 2004.Unfortunitly in late 2004 I had moved state (nsw) so having do this I handed over my presidenty to Trevor Phillips ,which is an has keep the club going well.http://www.mackayholdenclub.org

 

 

 

 

 

JUST HOLDEN MAGAZINE AUG-NOV 2007 ISSUE 6.My FJ Holden Ute once again place in a magazine BUT this time on the front cover as well (only small BUT hay it made the front cover) with inside a 6 page write up.

 

My FJ Holden Ute published in the AUSTRALIAN UTE MAGAZINE ISSUE 29 JULY/AUGUST 2007.Three page write up on 86 , 87, 88 .I'm rapped .

Ute Auction Magazine Issue #7 March 2005.I entered my FJ Holden Ute in the 2005 Ute Muster in Tamworth N.S.W. I won 1st place for "Best Restored Ute".To my surprise my Ute was placed in this magazine.Right page (middle left side).

 

 

FJ Holden pinball machine.These machines were manufactured in Australia by A.Hankin in 1979, to compete with the American Imported pinballs at the time. This machine had a very low production run, rumoured to be around 100 units made. By the mid 1980`s pinball machines was in decline due to the popularity of video games.

 

 

This is a double sided advertising flyer which was for the FJ Holden Pinball Machine when bought out. Size being 8.5 x 11 inches.
