I just picked up 3 parts kars for $200. One is in better shape than my racer but it was in an accident and the engine has shifted along with the subframe.
I cashed all three "junkers" in for $190 at the krusher. So I actually paid $10 for three kars! Oh ya and all the parts.
ABOUT MY KAR
My Kar is an '88 Samara! I ice race on Lake Superior. My Kar is one of the faster kars out there! Our top speed is 100km/h, track isn't that long to get some serious speed. I don't have a sound system,I just listen to the hum of the engine. My exhaust system has a cherry bomb right at the beginning and the pipe exits behind the passenger door.(sponsored by Minute Muffler). I have a 6 point roll cage and a 5 point harness. My Kar is 1,948 lbs. It is so light, that when I loosen the rear lug bolts, the tires spin.
My Kar 2003 Season - The Pumpkin
2003 Season my Rookie year my best finish was 2 out of 30 and worst was 8 out of 30. I had ignition problems last year.(that thing on the roof is a pumpkin stem. And incase you did not notice the open water in the background, that is Lake Superior. When we started our 2003 season there was hardly any snow to complete the track, but by early February we had all the snow we needed. (no snow in January is extremely rare for this area)
