Welcome to the page where I post different and interesting things about Turbo Buicks that I find on this vast expanse of internet, as well as tack on some of my feelings about today's performance trends. (NOTE: If anyone objects to my posting of any of the following materials, please let me know by signing my guestbook, contacting me via e-mail, etc. and I will remove them promptly)

Here, we have an article from
Car and Driver from sometime in 1985. It proves the GN is statistically superior to the other noteworthy G-bodies of the time.

Here are a few pages from a 1983 T-Type sales brochure
MY FEELINGS ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE TRENDS OF THIS DAY AND AGE:
I just thought I'd put my 2 cents in about the term "rice". My definition of this term is Rice - Any of a group of people who randomly throw mods at their four or six cylinder (usu. front-wheel drive), import or domestic, economy, or sports car. I'm not talikng about the dude who rocks a Supra, WRX, 300ZX, NSX, or any other real import. I'm talking about the dumbass who puts a muffler and body kit on his Civic or Integra and thinks he's the shit. Those cars can't be unique. They're like assholes, everyone's got one.
V-8 people aren't immune to this psyche of randomly throwing mods at their cars either. These people belong to the "mullett machine" group. Take, for instance, the average Joe who wants to make his POS, late '70s Nova (just an example, I'm not knocking any late '70s cars) perform better. He doesn't research the car and what it responds well to, he just takes his fuzzy knowledge of the small-block Chevrolet and throws HUGE cam in it and a carb, intake and headers. The cam is WAY too big and the car runs like a piece of shit, the carb isn't adjusted right, so it runs rich all the time. As Joe Schmoe revs the car, you can see raw gasoline exit where burned hydrocarbons are supposed to (out the exhaust, you dumbass!).
The moral that I'm trying to instill in everyone is to research your car. Do your homework, and your car can reach its full potential. Also, make it tasteful, not gaudy. If you know you're getting a car that you want to go fast, then do some research before you get it. IT CAN'T HURT!!!
On another note: If you want your car to just look good and you build it for SPL, then quit saying it's fast!!!!
