STEREO INSTALLATION
************the subwoofer, custom fiberglass box****************
the car came with 3 10" MTX blue thunder woofers, pretty decent subs.

however the box which was build which was half fiberglass and half wood, was of very POOR quality, and was powered all by a 20watt by 2 amplifer, I'm glade to find these subwoofers arnt blown from under powering. I plan on purchassing a rockford BD1500 amplifer which is 750 watts bridged at 4 ohms and 1500 watts bridged at 2 ohms RMS. and I will be installing this in the back of my backseat if all goes well.

in the process of making a fiberglass sub box for the 3 10's, have it all masked off, used tin foil as fiberglass wont stick to it.

my car with the box hardend and removed

the subwoofer bux pulled out of the car for visual checkover for weekspots. more layers were added.

after not taking pictures of using 1/2" plywood as dividers, fiberglassed in, and then cutting out 3/4" MDF for the tops and also resining them in with a layer of fiberglass over the whole top, it came to this stage of the filler being sanded and almost ready for paint.

I was anctious and install the sub box in my car and ran the wired to my micra which has a 250 watt bridged mono rockford amp @ 4ohms. sounded ok, Ijust wanted to test it out. still had the capability to make me deaf.

here is a picture below of today (nove 24, 05) so you can see what the box looks like before the cover I made installed, and so that you can get ideas from it and see how easy it is to make a nice cover, if I coudl I'd re do it, some of the tension marks on the cover arnt the best.

*** SUB BOX COVER ****
just cheap MDF coverd with carpenters insulation and then marine grade vynle, pulled tight and then stapled. I coudl re do and do a better job, I probably will actually.

Now I made a custom cover to go over the wheel well. this still doesn't fit perfect, I need to take a little out of the passanger side from about halfway to the where the back of the seat would be.

just one thing missing, the very back moulding peice, now the whole thing wont fit there now, that was my intent. but I threw away what came with it originally because the owner butchered it up. I went to the scrap yard and hacked one up and only used what you see. looks awsome

stay intune for install of my amps, deck doors, 6X9's and 4X6's.
march 24 2004
decided to paint the box blue, seems to look a lot nicer, however the actual quality of the paint job is poor. but I was getting frustrated and just plopped it in anyways, so I can get onto bigger and better things. hope you enjoy, ps I think the new black interior looks gourgous now. and compliments this car greatly compared to grey
cheers

got another pic from a distance showing that the paint pretty much matches the color of the car, minus the glare off the car.

hey guys well I fixed the problem/disupte about the sub box, I went back with white, what I used was some filon siding(from an RV shop used for the sides of RV's) and cut it to size then just used contractors glue (red silicon) and stuck it on. now I got a perfect finish that I'm happy with. let me know what you think

****************SOUND DEADENER***************
Febuary 22 2004
took a few days to lay FATMAT or dynamat inside my car. I got 100 square feet of it for only 120 bux american. for now i've done everything BUT the doors, and rear dip area. I'm now in the process of putting back majority of my interior up front and making plans for the seats to be mounted. here are the pictures of the fatmat

******************* THE AMP RACK/BOX ***************
below are a few pictures (sorry I didn't take them sooner) of my amp box which I will be putting INSIDE my back seat. so when you flip it down, you will be exposing plexiglass and under it is housed my amplifier(s) capicitator and distribution blocks. I will probably have some neon lights hidden away in here. I was trying to buy a VIPER amplifer locally but I think the dude sold it. it put out 2500 watts RMS at 4 ohms!!!!! time to upgrade subs LOL.

today I recieved my piece of plexiglass for my amp box, has the SS sand blasted into it. looks freakin awsome. should look killer

december 20th, 2005. well worked on the backseat deal again. man turning out awsome. that SS thing was a really good call.
check it out. seat looks stock, stil put foam back in the front. dont anticipate people sitting back there though. the green masking tap is there because I'm going to paint the outter edge black I think.
cheers

well today I finally finished this prick, this is a very labour intensive job. I might not have done the best, but I sitll think I did pretty good. seeing as how I have no background in upholstry and what not. I did however get the idea from another 3rd gen enthusist. nothing like this though. hope some of you can get ideas off of this, my suggestion. USE A SMALLER AMP than I did. holy crap this thing is heavy. lol enjoy the pictures. I might upgrade to lighting inside the box, but didn't want to get carried away, I have enough lighting in my car. if anything i think i will install a few blue LED"S and try to emboss them into the plexiglass so that the SS symbol lights up and not much else.
cheers
blake

*************** speakers ****************
well I'm not off to that great of start but here are new clarions which I bought, insalled nice good 14 gauge wiring whicih leads to the back storage compartment, in which I plan to house a 4 channel amplifier to power my speakers

I will probably take them back out, and stuff polyfill in there, got lots of it so I might as well, deaden sound, its light, and probably stop vibratin and bad sound
