THE BODY/CHASSIS
This was the original beetle created. It had a chevelle frame which had approx. 4.5' total cut out of it in various sections.
The floor pans were hand made and the body was rubber mounted. The hood is made simply from the cowl induction off of a camaro, a fiberglass form was used to make it.
The fenders are flared out to about three inches to properly contain the wheels

THE DRIVETRAIN(S)
Originally was the 283ci which got the car up to it's top speed of 160mph (not quarter mile!). The high revving capabilities of this engine were great for the light car.
After came the 350 LT1 motor which couldn't take the abuse and soon blew, unfortunately, the 283 had been sold.
The clutch/tranny are out of a 454 ElCamino controlled by a Hurst competition plus shifter.Page1 - The original bug. Pictures
