At a Glance: This is my 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe and it is actually my first car. I earned and payed every penny for this car. It may not be as great as the rest of the supercars on CarDomain, but then again, I never said it was. This car has seen a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of parts have come and gone, but it is constantly evolving into a better car. It's 7 years after it rolled off the production line, and I am still proud to own this car.
The Engine: My Honda is powered by the good ol' D16Y8 16 valve 1.6 liter VTEC I4. The only modifications I have done are a custom intake, increasing the airflow to the intake by removing all components of the stock air box and fabricating a custom forced cold air induction system with air box. The exhaust is an A'pexi International Series cat-back system. Also, I did a little wire and hose detailing to add some color under the hood. I have rated my car at 135 hp figuring stock it is 127 hp and my intake should be pulling in 5hp and a 5-10hp increase from all the exhaust components. I would say 135 is a fair rating.
Why the Civic?: To be honest, when I was looking for cars I wasn't really even interested in Hondas at all, but after being dissapointed by other cars in my hunt for the right car, I found myself in a Honda dealership. I saw this red 2000 Civic and I just knew it was right for me. After a test drive, I couldn't pass it up. Honda has a good reputation and personally, I think the car looks pretty good. For a first car, I think I have done pretty well for myself.
