On 8-27-04 I began my turbo upgrade. The goal was to replace the stock TDO4HL-13G with a ported and polished TDO4HL-16T. The new turbo is off a '98 Volvo with 40k miles. The stock 13g is pretty small, it can't even hold 8 psi to redline. Hopefully the 16T will hold a solid 15 psi to redline, but only time will tell.

The only big problem I ran into during the install was that I couldn't remove two studs that were stripped, off the new turbo. So I had to get a machine shop to remove the studs for me. After that was done, everything went pretty smoothly. I finished on 9-2-2004. So far I'm just running 12 psi which it will actually hold to redline. :) I picked up a substantial power gain with the new turbo especially in the midrange.
