York Compressor
Just picked up a air conditioner from the wreckers for on board air. It's a long stroke, 10ci, York out of an 84 Volvo.
This is what it looked like straight from the wreckers. It was a mess.

This is what it now looks like after I spent 2 hours cleaning it up with degreaser and a toothbrush.

Just got all my stuff from www.onboardair.com today.

- 1.75 gallon air tank.
- York mounting bracket for 93 YJ without a/c.
- Serpentine clutch and pulley.
- Idler pulley (needed for my serpentine belt setup)
- York dipstick.
- York flange head fittings.
- Drain valve (to drain moisture out of air tank).
- Check valve (to prevent air tank from bleeding out through compressor when shut off).
- Air manifold.
- Pressure switch.
- Liquid filled pressure guage.
- Relief (saftey) valve.
- 3/8" hose.
- Fittings to hook it all up.
- Ordered extra angle fittings because I don't know exactly where everything's going yet.
- Didn't bother to order an air filter for the compressor because I'm gonna run the air intake to my airbox lid to keep it waterproof.
Removing the old clutch and pulley
1. Remove the center bolt and washer holding on the pulley.
2. Thread a 3/8" bolt into the center of the pulley till it pulls it off the crankshaft.
3. Remove the 4 bolts holding on the clutch.
This is the York with the clutch and pulley removed.

Instead of buying an air filter for the compressor I decided to run the intake to my airbox lid. This way the air gets filtered by my main air filter and it also keeps it waterproof.
I put it on a quick disconnect for easy removal of the airbox lid.

Here's a pic of the the air tank. I wanted to put it under the hood but because of a lack of room, I ended up installing it under the jeep above the rear axle.

I installed a water seperator and pressure regulator after the air tank in order to regulate pressure for running air tools.

For now, I only have one air hookup near the front bumper. I'll be adding another one to the rear sometime in the near future.
