Engine / Drivetrain

Engine: I am estimating about a 45hp increase from current mods over factory. Although not dyno'd yet, i have raced a few cars. one of which a 06 accord V6. these make 244 hp and click the 1/4 at 15.6 @ 91... and my old times on the interceptor gauge are 15.6@90 so with my car able to walk over him its pretty easy to say its making in the area of 260hp. Also my recent trip to the track landed me at 14.91@93.8mph making me currently the fastest NA LQ1 5th gen monte.
Design Theme:
I am designing this engine for daily driving. High level or risky mods are not entering the plan. All mods are aimed at making the existing componets work more efficently. For the color scheme, I am aiming for a clasic muscle car look with a touch of modern systems accented.

Air Pump Plug/Port
The factory has an air pump that injects fresh air into the exhaust for the first min of start up to pre heat the cat a bit faster. The port they chose to use is huge! and obstructive to exhaust flow. You all have two options. First if you have a computer tuner, you can remove the system all together, or just remove and flip the plug...it will fit backwards in the pipe aswell. If you choose to remove the system, you can plug the hole with a brass plug or a penny. I chose the penny.

Exhaust System
Even thought i loved my previous system with the cutout, i had problems with the salt air down here rusting the cable. So...I went with an even higher flowing fixed system. It consists of a High Flow Cat, a Magnaflow 14" Muffler and a Z28 style tip exiting in a side pipe again. The entire system is 2.5" it is a bit louder then the old cutout system. I recently tested the car with my Interceptor gauge and found on a normal bridge i race up i am now .5 sec faster in the 1/4! I just cant wait to get ot a track and get some real numbers!

Accel
Due to too much interior noise, i rebuilt this system. I had a Glasspack installed and had duals put back on the car. Each tip is equal lenght for perfict flow. they are made of Stainless steel and hold an amazing shine even in the salty florida air. here are a few pics. i'll get some more sound files soon.
