Update: 10/3/2011. The engine in my Z34 finally asked to be retired. She gave one heck of a run. 225,000 miles, killed 2 tranys, and broke the record twice for the fasts NA DOHC in a Monte Carlo. On Oct 3rd, her DOHC stalled out and never woke again. It appears the timing chain jumped as all four cams were aligned and timing belt was tight and in good condition. This tragedy set the stage for her next evolution. 3800 series swap! She has gotten a 3800 Series II L36 out of a 98 Z34 along with a 4t65e w/ 3.29's and headers. Along with the power-train, a Top Swap will be going on. With porting the heads, lower intake manifold, and blower the 3800 will pick up where the DOHC left off.
