Sorry guys!
But yo
u get the picture!
PICS OF RED/CLEARS

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

These are the two lenses side by side.

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

These are the backs of the two lenses. (All clears on the left)

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

You put the lense (lense facing up) for 11 minutes at 205 degrees. ( I did the stock lense first just to make sure I could do everything right)

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

Lense pulled out.... Be careful when pulling the lense off.... Do it evenly across the whole face of the lense, starting at the 4 tabs, and slowly moving away from them around the entire edge of the lense.

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

The all clears going in!!!

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

I didn't get a picture of this. But do put the lenses back together after you've painted them, put the HOUSING in for 7 minutes at 205 degrees, then put the lense in for 4 minutes. Meaning that the housing was in for a total of 11 minutes, and the lense was in for only FOUR... Make sure you put the outer face of the lense on the grates. (This whole time i've the grate half way up in the oven)

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

Reassembled and ready to go! (not pictured)- After you did the above step, put the lense on, and push it over the housing... It should go on pretty easy, make sure that in lines up correctly.

A nice shot of the newly installed red/clears!

I used TESTORS Candy Apple Red Transparent paint... It is the same paint that David L used to do the original 95/96 red clears....
GOOD LUCK!!!!

I own the most desired black on black SE maxima... I bought it from a really nice lady in fairfax virginia. She was the only owner, and kept it in PERFECT condition. I had been searching on autotrader and other random car ad sites, I wanted a black on black, but the interior wasnt as crucial as having a black exterior..
I found this car on www.cars.com on a wednesday night, and I drove to fairfax friday to get it. It has ALL of the options available for the 96 maxima, but she said she got the SE so she could get the 5 speed...
Mods so far:
-Stillen catback
-17 in. Konig Villain rims wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE040's
-Motorsports Intake
-Short shifter w/ sparco CF knob
Sound system to be put in within a few months:
-Panasonic full dot matrix screen headunit, 200 watts, with remote
-Infinity Kappa Component speakers front and rear
-Infinity Reference 10 in. sub powered by a sony Xplod 760W with a Q Logic box
-All Knu Konceptz wiring
Styling
-PIAA headlights and foglights
-Clear bumper lights
-20% tint(soon to be put on)
-Project: clearing out the nasty yellow tail lense......

Well thats all for now, I'm hoping on, after I get all the sound system stuff in, to get some eibach lowering springs, and tokico struts...

My car history, and introduction:

I used to own a 1989 Acura Legend L coupe...

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

It was my first car, and a great one for that... That car was my learning car you could call it... I pretty much tried to rice it out at firstblackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima
.... Then I started to learn about cars, and how to do things right and such...
After the whole learning process with the legend, I bought a true sports car... I got a 1986 Mazda RX-7 GXLblackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima..The proportions of this car were perfectly designed in every way. It was light weight, powered by the most unique engine made, and had an almost 50/50 weight ratio, making it one of the best handling cars from the company. I loved the 7.... I had too much fun in it..
blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima...The only problem is that the coolant seal was on its way out.. So only after I owned it for a few months it just finally went out... So without even knowing much about a rotary engine itself, My great friend Matt(who knew oh sooooo much) and I decided to dig into an engine swap..

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

(me-no sleep, lots of work=dazed)....After I got it finished, got headers and a presilencer on, ignition stuff.. it ran awesome, and was a whole lot stronger..After I put 1800 miles on it with the new engine, it went out... it was either a blown seal, or a spun bearing... my guess was that it was the bearing from the symptoms.. but I was tired with the car, so cut my losses, and sold it for dirt cheap..
It was sad to see it go, but it needed to be gone, and I needed a car bad...

So I started to look into what car would be most practical for me, and yet had great potential performance wise, but wouldnt be anoyying once I started to modify it, and would be a perfect car modded or stock. And yet, with all that in mind, it needed to have room for my drums, and room for people to sit because I like to drive alot of people around..So I narrowed it down to only a few cars that fit that criteria, and also fit my pricerange:
Integra GSR
Maxima SE
Audi A4
Legend LS
I eliminated the Audi pretty quickly noticing that the price was too high. Then went the legend not too much later, simply because there wasn't many parts available for it performance wise, and the styling wasn't too appealing to me.
So I decided one day to go test drive a 97 two door Integra GSR, and a 99 Maxima SE. I liked the integra alot, but it wasnt big enough for my drums, but I thought I could work around it.. But then I test drove the maxima and I knew from that point that that was the car I wanted...
For the next 2 weeks I searched everywhere within 400 miles basically.. And could never find a black on black SE within my pricerange...
Well, to make a long story short, I found mine in fairfax VA.. It was lady owned all its life, by the original owner... She babied the car, and it was in perfect condition..

The reason I think the maxima is one of the best 4 door cars out there, and the best bang for your buck..It's got handling just as good, if not better than alot of 2 door cars out there... It's powered by close to the same engine in the NA 300ZX too... I could go on and on about it, when really its just one of the most practical cars that was made in the mid-high 90's... It's got the roominess of any sedan, if not more.. The luxerious ride of any acura or toyota or some lexus' and such...But at the same time, the minute you crank it into a turn, it doesnt complain the least bit, and it just eats the road up. The styling is perfectly proportioned, so that it looks like a 4 door, but just as sporty looking as a little 2 door coupe.blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

blackmaxx96's 1996 Nissan Maxima

And along with all of that, its got power to spare. In every gear, just hit the gas, and it goes, its got a great powerband, and was ranked one of the "best 10 engines."

So theres my reasoning... and my nice little write up that I threw together....

"The Nissan Maxima is considered one of the most refined cars out on the road today. It combines luxury with outstanding performance in all aspects. Born with true "race car" heritage in mind, Nissan set forth to accomplish what no other car designer has yet acheived. To build a car with everything the buyer wants at a price the buyer can afford; Making it the best "bang-for-the-buck" car out there. Today, the Maxima plays a vital part in the import performance scene. With its moddest yet striking looks, it is often underestimated, which makes this car the perfect sleeper."- nightrider.com

"Ask us, and we'll tell you how the Maxima SE will whip the Integra GS-R, and Taurus SHO. It'll
stomp the normally aspirated 300ZX, and drivers of automatic-transmissioned 300ZX Turbos best not be snoozing when the light goes green. This demure-looking family car is the quickest Japanese sedan available in the States." --Motor Trend, Road Test, June 1994

Since 1995, Maxima has been known for its smooth V6 engine. Its 3.0 litre powerplant, part of the VQ engine series, has been named one of the "10 Best Engines" by Ward's Auto World for seven consecutive years. Ward's editors have written that it is "simply, the best V6 engine available in America."
