UPDATE:
Exterior shots of the car in black on page 4.
Hey,
This is a little page about my car. If a you want to know about me then go to http://www.geocities.com/oreopride/ (copy and paste it) But fair warning; I'm a jackass and it really shows.
It should be said that as I start writing this I'm about 90% done with the car. I'm just missing the spring/shock setup, 264/272 cams, the higher CR pistons. I say that but are any of us ever really done with them? :p I'll start with a little about my car:
This car is a 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. The best part is it is an early 92 which means it has a 4 bolt rear end and a 6 bolt engine. The car is powered by the amazing 4g63 that resides in the Eclipse/Laser turbo/Lancers and carries a 7.8:1 Compression Ratio along with an iron block and aluminum head. The 4g63 is probably the best mass produced 4 cylinder ever (or the 3sgte; it's a toss up between the two) What makes the car amazing is the engine has a stock output of 195HP; and you can mod it until it gets 400 peak HP without removing the valve cover (though if you're making 400HP on stock cams you really are choking the car off)
I'm going to put my mod list up seperatly and then put pictures and excerpts up of the car next to the clean/custom stuff.

About 250 lbs of weight reduction (and another 20lbs in gain form the intercooler). I know how frequently people BS the weight of items on theur car; but someone has actually measured every item on a 1g so:
Front bumper support - 45lbs / Rear bumper support - 40 lbs / Full A/C system - 48 lbs / Rear seats/seatbelts/sound material - 35lbs / The Rims drop rotational weight - 13.5lbs per rim vs. the stock 19 (so 26 lbs dropped) / Various brackets - 10lbs / Rear windshield washer and motor - 14 lbs / Front washer resvoir - 10 lbs / battery brackets - 15 lbs /
So where to start with the above mod? My car is getting painted in black on December 22nd so I'm not going to be putting up anymore exterior shots other than the FMIC until I get it back. So I guess the engine/sound stuff will be shown along with the interior.
It should be said that anything that is aluminum/stainless gets polished if it's in my engine bay; except the intake manifold I'm too lazy to do right now. This is a before of my turbo with a comparison to a coke can.
Next picture is it in polished form; I couldn't afford the $75 from AGP so I paid $10 in sandpaper and did it myself. Fair warning to anyone that tries to do it by hand: I watched about 22 episodes of Naruto in a row while doing it. So it takes about 8 hours and going through the following grades of paper - 300, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500. And today, about 4 weeks after I did that by hand, I bought a dremel :-(
Yes, the bumper does fit over it with the stock lights. ;-) I had to cut deep into the bumper but amazingly was able to retain the power steering lines AND A/C if I wanted to; but I never use A/C so it got pulled months ago. The main problem that came with the IC was, in fact, the LICP. The UICP was easy to flush but the lower one was originally running underneath the FRAME of the car. After a little cutting and tearing we found that pulling the windshield washer resovoir provided a nice hole the the LICP to come out and flush with the turbo outlet.
If anyone wants to trade a regular crack-free cover for an alright black powdercoated valve cover then I'm game.
I'll put up exterior pics in 3 weeks when the car will FINALLY be in black and do the interior pics sometime this week when I finish it up. I bought this thing a year and a half ago with everything I wanted on a 1g except the ugly teal color and the lack of a sunroof. Oh well, you win some you lose some. If you *really* want to see it here are pics of the car the day after I got it a year ago:
