OK, this is where I'm gonna answer questions I ALWAYS get about my car, hope you like!
1A. Q: Why do you have to let your car "cool down?"
A: It's not so much cooling down the car as it is the turbo. If I jsut shut the car off (since I am poor and still without a Turbo Timer) I could damage my turbo.
1B. Q: (As of 9-15-04) Why is your car still running? The keys are in your hand!
A: I finally got a Turbo Timer, it lets the car idle for a set amount of time to avoid damaging the turbo...hopefully to avoid you asking Q1A :-)
2. Q: What is a "turbo?"
A: It's the reason my car is fast! Think of it as a tiny air compressor hooked up to the engine.
3. Q: What IS that noise?
A: That's my blow-off valve. in order to prevent air from going backwards into the turbo (called compressor surge...bad!) the air is rerouted through the blow-off valve and back into the intake in the proper direction. Sounds cool, doesn't it?
4. Q: Why did you get the Spyder?
A: Well, I got it pretty much because I was in a hurry to get a new car and the GSX i was looking at was sold. But now I am glad I got it...the extra weight is well worth it in the summer (girls love it!).
5. Q: Aren't Eclipses chick cars?
A: They definitely were designed for girls, I won't lie. Just look at the minimal leg room and the fact that there are buffers in the clutch system to make it easier to drive. But let me say, because it was designed for them...they LOVE riding in it ;-) The car is very capable of non-chick-car-like performance, so any prospective male buyers need not worry.
6. Q: Why didn't you just buy a 5.0?
A: Get out of my car.
7. Q: Can I drive?
A: No.
8. Q: Why is your car so loud?
A: 3" exhaust...sounds good, huh?
9. Q: Is that car a GS or GS-T?
A: You tell me.
10. Q: Why did you buy a Japanese car...do you hate America?
A: Actually, this car was made in America. So don't worry, American workers were paid to build it. In fact, my same car was also sold under that name "Eagle Talon"...Eagle being an American car company (part of Chrysler...).
More to come...
