Firstly, I would like to let everyone know that if you are giving me a low score based on the fact I don't have any "kool dubs" or "thumpin" 18's in the trunk, I suggest you move on. You won't find that here. This car is for true Jaguar purists and its style will not be compromised by some trendy fad. This is a car, not a rolling dance club.

Here is my 1986 Jaguar XJ6.
She is finished in Solent blue with biscuit Connolly leather interior. The wood is burled Carpathian Elm and is very rare. I have thick Australian sheepskins to protect the leather from any dirt or scrapes. It has been restored to be better than it was when new. I hope you enjoy these pics of my Jag. If you need any tech help or advice about your Jag, I would love to assist you. Please feel free to give me feedback and your thoughts. On page 2 I give all the info on what has been done. It's a bit lengthy, but it makes for interesting reading...I suppose.

This pic is of the genuine Jaguar wood kit I purchased from Paul's Discount Jaguar Parts in Florida. My local dealer was charging $1,600 for it, but Paul had it for less than $600.

Nice shot of her from behind.

Another nice shot of the woodwork. The centre console was the only piece I didn't purchase from Paul's. I stripped the centre gearshift surround to bare metal and applied a burled carpathian elm veneer then finished it off with an epoxy resin that polished to a super-high gloss. Leather steering wheel is new too.

Hello jdkaran! Thanks for coming by my page! I appreciate your kind words on my big cat. I havn't been able to find anything relating to Paul's, in quite some time, unfortunately. I know he had a very limited supply of factory surplus wood kits that he said was purchased from the factory. At the time I was restoring my cat, he mentioned that I needed to act quickly, as his supply was essentially disappearing off the shelves at a frantic pace. I noticed his advert in Hemming's Motor News, way back in 1996. I can't imagine that PDJP would just go out of business though. He had a great selection of reasonably priced parts for older Jags. I do believe he also had factory original leather as well. I purchased my interior from Bartlett (I believe. It's been a while. LOL) Their leather kits are of the best quality, using genuine Connolly leather and correct fabrics and materials as specified by Jaguar. That includes correct grain patterns etc. As far as interior wood goes, I have found a place in Orlando, Florida called British Auto wood. Their wood looks stunning! Here is their web site:http://www.britishautowood.com/index.htm They are masters of their craft and can re-finish your existing wood to look better than new, using beautiful veneers and finishes. Granted, they are a bit pricey, but once you see the finished product, you might just have to pick your jaw up off the floor. Good luck in your restoration and feel free to ask me whatever you would like re: your XJ. I love Jags and would love to help, in any way that I can, to make your restoration less troublesome, more informative or more of a joy. I pulled my hair out at times, but the finished product was well worth it. If things are done right, your Jag will last you for MANY years to come, if regular maintenance and care is taken with it. Have fun and good luck, my fellow Jag lover! -Richard

Hi Richard

Your car is great. I am in the middle of a restoration of a 1986 XJ6. I am looking for interior wood kit but I can not find any listing for Pauls in Florida. I live in Florida any idea how to contact them. Thank you

Joe Karan

I love it. The grain in the woodwork jumps out at you, I'll bet even more so in person.
