This is the original concept car that Pontiac sent to auto shows in 1999. I actually like the production front end better than the concept. The line of contrasting paint along the sides of the roof are great. Too bad that didn't make it to the final product.
Not a bad looking vehicle, at this point. Just that front end is awkward. The monochromatic plastic panels on the doors looks much better, I think, than the black or grey ones that came with the 2001 Aztek. The plastic cladding was a trademark Pontiac feature thru the later part of the 90's When Bob Lutz, former head of Chrysler, took over GM, one of his first edicts to Pontiac Division was "Loose the cladding!!" The Grand Am, and Grand Prix lost all theirs, and the Aztek's were painted to match the body color, starting in 2002.It made the 2002-2004's stand out less than their cladded cousins of 2001.
