1966 Resto-mod Mustang 5.0L EFI conversion from a 289 car....Each page details work done and in progress with dates completed above each picture set.

The intent is a nice resto-mod coupe. The vehicle was born in rust-free San Jose, CA. After the first 30 years of life, it was discovered sitting waist high in sand at a former owners residence in a nearby sand dune area. Sounds nasty huh? It was. However the worse was yet to come...
After being cleaned up and back in daily driver status, the car was hit from the right side in a glancing collision that damaged 75% of the passenger side sheet metal, leaving only structural pieces in tact. Alot of work,....you bet. But, it will all soon be better than new, take some time to check it out...
Phase 1
These are pics of the car when I first purchased it in Jan of 2002. Below that is the photoshop mock-up of the final product.
This is a picture of the car just prior to tear-down, it has 17 inch polished Torque Thrust II's, it's was good looking car from 20 feet. But it is in need of serious care and complete restoration. The following pages will detail the progress.

After 18 months of restoration -

Phase 2
The pictures below show the 2 donor cars used to make mine complete. An old shell of a 65 6 cyl that I bought for next to nothing and removed needed structural sheetmetal from (lower sill and door pillar). The engine is from a 5.0L equipped Crown Victoria, not a power house but the price was right for a low mile EFI 5.0L donor. The 5.0L ran strong before removal at 80k mi. Both cars cost less than $700!
