This is my 89 Honda VTR250 Intercepter
It used to be painted red. One of the previous owners had it done in a single stage, but it was dull, cracking, and peeling off of one of the side fairings. It also had some deep scratches and cracks on the plastic.
I removed all the fairings and scuffed them down. One of the sides had to be compleatly sanded down to the factory paint, due to bad adhiesion of the red paint. All cracks and deep scratches were repaired with fiberglass, and fiberglass filler.
Only half the tank had been painted in single stage black.
I fully painted the tank with a 2 stage base/clear gloss black, and buffed it to a mirror like shine.
It also had the turnsignals shaved off, and replaced with blue led's, wich burnt the turnsignal relay, and are ilegal in this state. I replaced those with computure-chip controlled amber led sidemarkers.
The fairings were painted in a 3 stage base/kamelion/clear paint job. The base is a royale blue metalic, with a kamelion blue to red mid-coat, then cleared. The blue to red kamelion mid-coat gives it an overall suddle blue to purple color change in sertain angles.
