I've been working on this car since I bought it. Everything has been changed to something either better, newer, or in some cases, better off in the first place... I had the original 289 rebuilt and beefed up to around 350-400 horses (no dyno yet):
Original 65 289 block
Speed Pro 11.6:1 pistons (for 58cc heads)
Ford SVO GT-40 Aluminum heads (64cc chambers)
Ford Racing valve covers
Crane Cams 1.7 ratio roller rockers
Crane Energizer pushrods
Iskendarian Cams Mega Hydraulic 280
(237 dur @.050", .549"/.549" lift w/ 1.7 rockers)
Iskendarian Cams Hydraulic lifters
Mr. Gasket 1" Phenolic spacer
Holley 670 carb
K&N Air Filter & X-stream lid
Victor Jr. intake
Stock crank & rods
Melling High Pressure oil pump
ARP hardware
Ford Racing short water pump and pulley kit
Lots more...picture on page 3.
I cut out the stock front suspension and put a Scott's Hotrods superslam front clip in, pic on page 3 (eventually). All four corners are 'bagged with 11 gal. of air reserve, no- it doesn't hop, and it won't ever either, that's stupid. Rebuilt the stock 9" one-legger rear with a 3.55:1 gear-set, Auburn LSD, new carrier, and 28-spline axles. The tranny was built by Bob at Bob's Almaden Transmissions, high-friction bands and clutches, modified vacuum modulator, shift-kit. He also built the converter, not sure of the diameter but it's a 3400 stall.
I didn't do any body mods, aside from painting it black and the adding the teardrop hood that my best friend George preped and painted for me, he's a damn good body man. I went to town on the interior with Jose at M&M Auto Upholstery of San Jose (408) 723-1300. The guy is a freaking genius, I had seen some other cars he did and I let him do whatever he wanted as long as the seat patterns remained stock and he used black and green sueded vinyl (a.k.a. allante). Even after all of the work that has gone into the car, I'm still not done; new carpet, line-x in the trunk, new glass, new tailgate, new rubber, rear discs, and eventually new paint, are in store eventually.
