1974 Cutlass

The car was bought new by my dad in 1974 at Pat Solon Olds in Portland, OR. It was given to me in 1989 when I was 18. It's been under construction since. I built this for touring the Interstates and really long road trips. The key thing was to incorporate reliability and drivability. With overdrive and a long legged rear gear I just now have to get HR or Z rated tires now. Please take my poll. What should I get?

-514 ci Cadillac motor. I went with a Caddy cause I had the motor lying around from my junker Deville and the Olds 350 had a meltdown. I like to be different!

-4wheel disc brakes
-Beefed up suspension by HO: Really stiff springs, sway bars (1.75"front,1"rear), bushings, shocks. Tubular upper A arms, spindle hight extender, and limiter straps.
-B&M ratchet shifter and 12:1 Quick ratio steering from 88 SS Monte Carlo

-A modified 4spd automatic (DRW 200r4) "Overdrive!"
-Oversized wheel bearing on all four corners from.
-Ford 9inch rear and a "really fast gear"(w/noisey Lock Rite) 
-Flowmaster exhaust
-15 X 8.5 Western wheels (rare Mini Lite replicas) somtimes I roll on my 18 BMW wheels 245s front 275s rear 
-2003 Jaguar British Racing Green
-Sirius Satellite Radio
-Fully functional and really cold AC converted to 134-a

All smiles... then we found out the hoist didn't reach far enough.

Back with a bigger hoist.

Had to cut up the AC box.

After 5 tries it fit!.

Best in show! LOL...in my own mind.

18" BMW wheels bolt right on. With 1/2" spacers. I used beefier lugs studs too ...12mmx1/2" I think.

My latest pics follow. Notice the hood scoop and I painted the wheels Gold. Wider rear tires too  275/60/15.  I went back to 15"rims cause people say it look better.  I agree!

 I like the Gold wich seems to work with the British Racing Green. I'm thinking of doing some kind of Gold pin stripe work.  Like the stripes on those old F1 John Player Specials

Anybody no anything about this car below? I found it in a IMSA website. It was an entry for IMSA Mid Ohio in the late 70's. Couldn't imagine it did to well against the other competitors though. looks more like a Stock Car"

I found this on locally from Ebay for $100. I stripped it and I'm geting it ready for paint now.
