highway_star's 1970 Pontiac Firebird Joure, UN Customized with American Racing Wheels, Cooper Tires - 1 This is my car. it looks kinda shitty but don't worry, i am working on it. behind my car you can see my dad's '77 el camino. my dad has another 2 cars. an '75 el camino SS and a 1979 firebird. all in good condition. A buddy of mine has a 1975 chevy caprice with a 400 cui engine. also in good condition. only my car is in a bit of a bad shape. more pictures will follow.

i've bought the car in July 2002. It drives great and fast. for european standards.:) I cruised a lot and went to several meetings in holland. an american car is pretty special in holland, and I got many jealous looks from older dudes who were in there midlife crisis. because i'm only 20 years old, its pretty unique that i drive and can afford an american car. many people think that i am in some dark, criminal circuit. thats great.

about the car: it has an 400 cui engine and it is a tire killer!

it hasn't got a slip diff so the tire is smoking pretty fast. i've got 255/60/15 tires rear and 245/60/15 in the front.

i hope you can understand the sizes cause it is metric. it looks real bad(ass)! The bird was in a bad shape. The rear 3/4 panels wer completely gone due to rust. It was just one layer of filler after another.(check pics)highway_star's 1970 Pontiac Firebird Joure, UN Customized with American Racing Wheels, Cooper Tires - 12 highway_star's 1970 Pontiac Firebird Joure, UN Customized with American Racing Wheels, Cooper Tires - 13

we made the panels ourselves. i am not quite satisfied with the results but i could roll for another year. The rear bumper was... well it looked alright, but when i took it off the car it was completely rotten. So i bought an new bumper.katsjing, katjsing! So in the mean time i got the gas tank away from the car. one day, I bored myself to death, i got a creative moment.I painted a flag on it. I believe it is the Federation flag. Pic will follow. I don't even use my gas tank, my car runs on propane.PROPANE POWERED! It is real cheap compared to gas. like one liter of gas is about 2,10 euro and a liter of propane costs about 0,40 euro
(1 euro is about just the same as 1 dollar) So, since american musclecars use a lot of fuel, the choise isn't hard
Anyway, even we restored the rear panels i am not satisfied with the result. so i decided to take the car apart. Entirely. The interior has had his best days, the electrical store is a mess, my engine creates a smokescreen when you accelarate
on the highway.

al these factors led me to the decision to take the car apart for a thourough restoration. This winter it will happen. So i bought another car, a Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham. 1984. check it out on page 3

at the end of the summer of 2004 i bought another body of a 1970 formula. with new 3/4 rear panels already installed! This saves me from 1. spend less money. 2. a whole lotta work!
the only thing i really need are two chairs. But i only want 1970 pontiac chairs, cause i want to restore the car as close as possible to original.
And i maybe found another formula, this one is a '71 and is a 350 formula. But it is all stripped down, and the guy owning this car doen't want to work on the car anymore and it's in his way,so... I will keep you posted of any progress!
