Cleaning and Preperation
This is the condition of the battery tray on your average Fiero. Since a water coolant pipe comes up through there it has to go anyway.
Here I am cutting it out with an angle grinder.
The tray is out but it left a rusty mess. Those tubes are for the gas tank vent.
I used a product called CorroSeal. It's a white milky liquid, latex based, that converts rust to a black primer like substance and it works great. Everything is so black it's hard to see.
I also used CorroSeal on the engine cradle. After it dried we went over it with satian black paint.
The lip on the passenger side has to be hammered flat.
The transmission mount slots on the engine cradle need to be lengthened and the hole for the ribber mount elongated.
