Cleaning and Preperation

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroThis is the condition of the battery tray on your average Fiero. Since a water coolant pipe comes up through there it has to go anyway.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroHere I am cutting it out with an angle grinder.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroThe tray is out but it left a rusty mess. Those tubes are for the gas tank vent.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroI used a product called CorroSeal. It's a white milky liquid, latex based, that converts rust to a black primer like substance and it works great. Everything is so black it's hard to see.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroI also used CorroSeal on the engine cradle. After it dried we went over it with satian black paint.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroThe lip on the passenger side has to be hammered flat.

marvyn741's 1988 Pontiac FieroThe transmission mount slots on the engine cradle need to be lengthened and the hole for the ribber mount elongated.

We appreciate beautiful and unique GM vehicles and would like to invite you to check out the club.

Come check out www.floridagmclub.com For a new Florida based GM Car Club. We stand out because we are an all Domestic car club. No Imports. This helps to set our club apart from the rest. I would like to send you a personal invitation for you and your ride to join up. We are a group that is truly growing strong. So Join up, take a seat, and tell us a little about yourself in the introduction section.
Thanks,
Adam
