Finally a CarDomain site for the mighty 2.8L Firebird. It is a daily driver so it does get abused now and then.
Here she is heading to the paint shop (June 2003) after having a fender replaced. Picked it up at PAP for $20. The color on there before was Fireball Red Metallic (a little too orange for my taste)

And here is the result of a Cherry Red Metallic paint job. It was repainted shortly after because it had bubbled where body work was done.

Here are the pics after the repaint and a good waxing. If you notice the color is a little brighter, which is closer to Magnetic Red II.

Love that shine!

A "FIREBIRD" fender emblem looks like it belongs in the headlight bezel. I think it looks better there than the fenders anyway.
NEW 8/8/04: Got something to fill the nose!

What I've been waiting for all SUMMER: 9/15/04

Emergency repair 1/11/04: new spark plug wires, the #3 wire melted on the manifold...

Latest Fuel Economy: 23.1111 MPG... Not bad!
Things to do:
1. Tune up - DONE
2. Replace torque arm bushing with polyurethane one. DONE - Took 2 days until I figured out I needed to use 2 C-clamps, but I finally got it in there... stupid rain!
3. Get an alignment. Sorta done, my tie rods need to be replaced...
4. Replace front brake hoses... gonna try this week... (3/28) Done... $60 at the shop... bleeding brakes suck!
5. Replace brake pads and turn rotors. DONE! Wow... I think I stop 20 feet sooner, and I can't get the wheels to lock either... pretty good.
6. Replace timing chain... ugh that sounds fun... DONE! Took 2 days, and I got scared shitless when I didn't put on the balancer puller correctly, but it all turned out well. Except for having to swap the serpentine belt to get rid of some squealing. Total cost was about $70 for all parts and gaskets.

7. Replace cracked I-pipe... can you say loud exhaust? DONE... $50... blah
8. Change rear brake shoes... ended up having to rebuild the rear wheel cylinders since they were leaking, and the spring on the RR snapped... (grinding noises suck)
9. Installed a B&M Trans cooler (8/8/04)

10. Replace coil... wiring to old one died! Installed new MSD Blaster SS coil.

Throw the rag at the top of the nose, and it'll end up at the windshield.
