DASVW's 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio

In early 1984, my father and I made a trip to the Las Vegas Auto Show . . . the first time I had ever laid eyes on a Volkswagen Cabriolet - a triple white Boutique edition at that. I was so enamoured with the car, that I vowed someday I would have one.

I began driving in 1991, and my very first car was a 1973 VW Beetle. The subsequent list of former cars reads like a water-cooled VW who's who. I bought a 1989 Jetta GL, that was subsequently totalled, a 1991 Passat GL, a 1992 Jetta GLi, a 1995 Golf VR6, and finally, I bought a brand new 1997 Windsor Blue VW Cabrio. My dream - realized.

However, I had really wanted a Jazz Blue Cabrio, and the fact that I never found one in the specs that I wanted, never really left me.

Eventually in Dallas in May of 2002, I did find a Jazz Blue Cabrio optioned with everything I had ever wanted. Power everything including the roof, black leather, a manual. This was THE CAR.

And now, without further ado, The Jazz Blue.

DASVW's 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio The very first photo I took of my new car. June 1st, 2002 on Lower Greenville in Dallas.

DASVW's 1998 Volkswagen Cabrio Mods include - 16x7.5 BBS RKs with 205/45/16 Yokohama Paradas, H&R Sport Springs with KYB Shocks/Struts. ATE Power Stops. GIAC Chip, Neuspeed P-Flow. Custom 2" exhaust with OEM VR6 muffler/tips.

Beatiful cabrio. It is hard to find any with a paint color as nice as that blue. The 16 inch wheels give the car a great street look.

DAMN THATS SWEET, I've always been a fan of VW, even though I prefer the VW Golf. You listed that you owned a 1973 Beetle. My brother is a die-hard fan of the old bug. He had a 73 VW Bug project car. Eventually he had to give it away because he couldn't afford to restore it and did not have the time to sell it. Did you wreck your 1995 Golf VR6? Check out my ride.
