The following are pictures are of my first car. 1985 I did the engine swap back in my Jr. year of highschool. This was my first car. It was given to me when I was 15, by my father. He bought it off my cousin for $400. The 2.8 V-6 was knocking BAD with a spun rod bearing. My father knew that I wanted a project car. It certany was. I didn't want any more headaches trying to convert it to an 8 seeing as it was my first engine swap. I managed to find a GM Goodwrench Certified rebuilt engine for cheap. It ran great but wouldn't get out of it's own way.

Sadly, I rear-ended a pickup truck on my way to automotive tech-school two years later. Crunched the whole front end. I decided to fix it, so I found a Trans-am clip. Front louvered fenders, louvered hood, front and rear bumper and ground effects. No spoiler, though. The ground effects majorly changed the car's behavior on the highway. I felt it ride at least 3/4 of an inch lower. I've allways been in love with this car. The way it looks, the way it handles, the legroom, and just the way it makes you feel when you drive it.

10 April '04--I loaned the bird to a friend because he needed a car, and the bird needed to be driven. I drove it for 4 years on that rebuilt motor. I let him drive it and a month later the 2.8 is blown again! The motor was knocking and decided to sease up while it was bieng moved in the yard. Time to put a V-8 in it. I'm not blaming him soo much, although I wouldn't put it past him to drive it more agressively than I have. But the car was sitting for a while. It probably developed condinsation on the bottom of the oilpan. Now he won't give it back, He's going to try to put a Buick V-8 in it.---?---

He recently told me that he has no room for the car, so I guess I'm getting it back. I just have to find storage for it. That, and a lump of cash laying aroud somewhere....A friend once told me "Cheap and Far Away" is the way to sell something that you are deeply attached to. I sold it cheap, but to a friend up the street from me. That was a mistake because I see it every time I go home.

-17 May 05. It was sold for the price of $200. I was driving home from the airport just in time to see it being towed away.. I'll miss her, but I DO plan on getting a 85-90 Trans am, sometime in the distant future. I cannot afford it right now.
