This is my baby. When I graduated high school, my parents said I could either have a graduation party or a car. I chose a car. And here she is, 4 years later. So she isn't much to look at, but the sentimental value is there. We've been through a lot together and she's never given me problems. Take a look...

"Mods" = 5% tint, CD player, and that's about it.

Alison, Nice N-body Grand Am you got there!! Keep it up and it will last you a long time. My first Grand Am was a Gray '86 with a 2.4 Ironduke 4 cyl. It was a BIG step up to the 85 Mercury Lynx I had as my first car. Since then I have also owned an 89 LE Quad 4 I brought new with the FE3 suspension, an 88 Turbo 2.0 SE. The Turbo car was a quick little sucker!!!! Then I had an 87 Grand AM SE with the 3.0 V6 and 2 other Pontiacs. Both the 87 and the 88 were totaled by drunk drivers. My Daily Driver is a 97 Grand Am SE which is for sale due to the fact that I have too MANY CARS!!!!! I also show a modified 89 Base Grand Prix to "SE" conversion, Check it out when you get a chance! Thanks, Dave Gearhead43

I thought so, the 2.5 is the most common engine I've seen in Grand Ams. It's too bad that it's one of the "weakest", don't get me wrong now, I like the "Iron Duke" and it has earned that name. Very dependable, fairly good on gas, Almost imposible to kill, and plenty of low end. I have one in my S15. I said almost for a reason, I've killed two myself but, I beat the heck out of those cars and they both had well over 100,000 miles on them when I got them.I used to drive a lot, 75 miles one way to work plus screwing a round on the off hours. If you want any ideas on "hop-ups" let me know I have a few tricks that aren't in the books. We got almost 150hp out of this guys Fiero, not bad when we started with like 75-80hp. Good luck. Later
