Suspension and brakes
the first mod i did to this car when i bought it was this rear swaybar, and H&R springs. huge difference for a beginner like me at the time. over the years my car has transformed into something considerably different.
Summer of 2005 i had big plans for the suspension and drivetrain of my car. basically everything was torn out except the engine, steam cleaned, and only some of the pieces i took out got put back
the suspension got poly subframe bushings,delrin rear inner tie rod bushings, ground control adjustable coilover springs with 400lb/inch springs, spherical bearing upper strut mounts, Billzcat one brakes (unfortunately now a defunct company due to legal reasons, not product quality issues), porsche 993 twin turbo brake rotors,322mm in diameter, 32mm in thickness, burly indeed. the calipers are porsche 996 carrera units, monoblocks (one piece construction) that i paintes yellow with G2 caliper paint.

I got rid of the stock proportioning valve and installed a wilwood unit. about a quarter of the price, and adjustable. 3 years so far and no issues. also, a larger bore master cylinder is needed with the bigger brakes, the one i used is from a 1990 V8 qattro with G60 brakes.

Drivetrain Stuff
here's the UR quattro differential next to the stock 4kq diff. the main differences are the larger output flanges, a different locking mechanism, and 3:89 vs. 4:11 for the turbo engine. in conjunction with this differential i installed a 5k turbo transmission that has a matching final drive.
here's the stinkin' center support, shot,shot,and shot, rubber almost all gone and bearing no good. surprisingly the job went through without a hitch.
