-Engine/Car History-
12/15/07 - ENGINE SWAP COMPLETED
6/07 - ENGINE SWAP STARTED
8/6/06 - Struts replaced!!! First time since the car was made in 93. Wow did this make a huuuuge difference. I can go over speed bumps at any speed and not scrape the undercarriage. now i can floor it through the corners and this thing handles like a beast... AMAZING!!!
7/28/06 - Idler pulley was replaced after it decided to bend inward and chafed half of it away, and then threw the timing off by pulling the distributor in a circle. That is a sound that no one should ever hear.
1/25/05 - New Bosch 70amp alt installed because the last one dramatically died.
1/19/05 - Lifters replaced, spark plug wires replaced, distributor and rotor replaced.
5/6/04 - Transmission replaced
4/8/02 - Timing belt was replaced
Here is the power plant of the car. The V6 3.0 Liter, optima yellow top, and K&N filter with AM radiator. There is also a HyperTech grounding system in there, which spreads the ground out around the engine compartment. We also just put in a new tranny because th last on just died, the gears wouldn't engage. It just stopped on the highway.
Here is an up close of my homemade air intake, before the air induction was made, and the after pic.
Here is where it pulls the air from. There was just a plate in there, that came off by taking out 4 bolts. So i did it. Then i used some aluminum perforated sheet, it looks better than expanded, and the best part was that the holes lined up, so i could use the existing holes to mount it.
Here are some closer pics of it. I just made it out of thin aluminum sheet, that i cut with a scroll saw. I riveted everything together, and then covered all the edges with some weather stripping that we had lying around. Nothing is bolted to the frame, it all fits very snugly.
Here is my engine as of 9/20/05. We had the lifters and springs for the rockers replaced so that the infamous 'ticking' sound no longer exists. They also replaced the stock distributor and sending unit with a Bosch distributor and sending unit, as well as the spark plug wires. Luckily, they were nice enough to put in blue ones to go with my color scheme.
The pic also has my new battery terminals, as well as the fuse and ground distribution. I made that little tray out of aluminum sheet, and put it there, because not only did it fit well, and look good there, but there was no other place to mount it, and still have it look as stylish. Plus thats 0 gauge wire im running.
Here is a closeup of the distributor and wires, and the fuse and battery.

The 8in Camaro Tip
Quicktime Performance electronic butterfly valve... this sure roars.
Older Stereo Pics
Alpine CDA-9847
This an an overall great deck. Its is the cheapest one of Alpines that comes with the AiNet hookup. Right now i have no issues with it, and maybe in the future i will upgrade...
Audiobahn A2200HCT
This is the new 2005 model. I blew my other A2200HCQ, which was a 2002 model, and the 2005 model will be powering my 12in XXX at 1 ohm producing 1600 watts.
Alpine Type-S SPS171A
These are really nice speakers. As most of u know the mpv has a horrible speaker location, where the seat covers half the speaker, then when u sit down it blocks the whole speaker. So i put in this component set to raise the highs up, and have some midrange when my sub would go all that high.
12in RE XXX
This is in a 3.9 cuft enclosure(not incl port area) tuned to 27hz.
This is a pic of it compared to a kenwood 12 in i had lying around, which is for sale. It has never been used and still has the original box.
Here is a pic of it on the scale.
Here is an up close of that pic. The sub weighs nearly 50 POUNDS!!!
Audiobahn ACAP301Q
This 3 farad cap will keep everything going stable so my headlights wont dim as i drive in the dark with the tunes cranked. And it has a fused distribution block so it keeps everything straight.
- Here is all the stinger, pilot, and R/T accessories. From stinger, i got 0 gauge wire to run from the front of the van to the back (damn was that hard), 4 gauge to run from the cap to the amp, and 8 gauge to run from the amp to the sub. I also got the Stinger Custom Pro Series battery terminals with the covers, Custom Pro Series ANL fuse holder, Custom Pro Series distribution block, grommets, 100 amp ANL fuse, and a 17ft Stinger Bullet Series signal cable. And since i bought so much stinger, they threw in a free stinger sticker.
- From Pilot i got their 4-Button Gel Panel Control Switch, to run my neons.
- And from R/T i got the "Godzilla" Series Speaker Terminal with Machined Dual Binding Posts. This is truly a beast, and it really does accept 8 gauge wire.
This is an overview of the box and amp rack. The quality isn't good cause i had to use my phone. I misplaced my digital camera. But here you can see the amp on the left and the 3 farad cap on the right. The box is made of 3/4in MDF with a 2.5x11.5inx43in port. The whole box is covered in vinyl.
I finally covered up my amp rack with some wood to cover up all the wires, and the bare wood. I also finished off the sides of it with some stainless steel sheet #8 finish, more commonly known as 'mirror' finish. There is also a sheet on the bottom of the sub box, above the amps, and it really lights it up and night and gives it a good finished look.
Here is a top view of the box. You can see the port here, and I plan to get a nice stainless steel cap to go over it to finish it off so u don't see where the vinyl ends.
And finally the XXX in its final resting place (hopefully)
