Adjustable thermostat

OK this is not completely my idea: it's just an improvement of what I saw here ZR-1 Forum
I'm not debating about the optimal engine temperature, I just wanted a lower 'stat.
Here what Hypertech sent me: a so called 180F.
The lower temperature I saw in winter has been 195F (WTF!), so I decided to make a little modification...
The housing has a 4M thread exactly in the middle of the seat for the wax motor.
With an external screw it is possible to adjust the opening temperature almost on the fly: just replace the screw with a longer or shorter one, depending on your needs (do it when the engine is COLD!)
It's important to put a seal betwee screw and housing, also the housing has to be flatten around the hole to accomodate the seal.
It's better to lubricate the thread with some anti-seize.
The point of the screw should be flatten for fine adjustments.
The crappy Hypertech 'stat doesn't closes copletely (metal-to-metal seal) and it's a real pain to set the desired temperature. At the end I decided to modify the stock 'stat which has a rubber seal - much much better!

Housing
Notice the brand: MotoRad - Germany.
Hypertech, what the hell!

My parents are from Switzerland, Dad from Zurich and Mom from Rhazun's. All of my relatives still live in Switzerland two of my Aunts in Zurich in fact. I was supposed to visit this last summer but my wifes sister got married so we went to Puerto Rico. My mom is in Switzerland visiting at the moment. I would love to go out there and cruise through the alps site seeing but my ride would be way illegal on the roads out there. I hear swiss inspection's are very strict on modifications to suspension and motors etc. Hey nice talking to you.. from a Swiss in Texas..

Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you. Great, clean & best one ride. 5* Keep up the good work
